Shifting of what Planes, exactly?

Okay, so grant that I am not so experienced in Yliakum as some others are.  Maybe, long years ago, this was quite obvious.

What's with the name “PlaneShift”?
It makes sense with Magic: The Gathering for irrelevant reasons that I will not bother to describe.
But Yliakum?

It refers to the fact that there's many levels in yliakum, and you move between them,thus you are shifting between planes. Atleast that sounds logical enough  ::)
Unless there's even more deep meaning to it.
