Uadjet: Hello and welcome to the Developer's Q&A!
Gova: Drat. Forgot to get a blook. BRB.
Zrak: A blook?
Gonger: Book with a typo?
Gova: Yeah, a book. For the species rights thing.
Damola ponders "I wonder whether my message to Uadjet was enough."
Damola: So what's up? Any news any Q. Preempting Uadjet's official intro.
Uadjet: Well, Talad has gone very deep into the city management system.
Mohonin: ya, by mention of glyphs, any idea how soon some spell will be implemented with new glyphs key, bird, fly?
Damola: City management system?
Uadjet: It's the tribes system on steroids, though Talad might prefer a different metaphor.
Mohonin: Oh then if Talad Sir is on that thing then the glyph spell will take time
Resildren: it'll help empting out our bags of tria and fortify the towns
Uadjet: It's a complex system, but the player will be able to contribute to the health and happiness of a city or town, and receive some benefit(s) in return.
Damola looks bored "Taxes? Really?"
Gonger: Make your town more beautiful.
Uadjet: And Res is right. It's a bit of a resource/tria sink, and in return you get glory and respectability.
Resildren: with fortifacations
Damola: So not? exactly? taxes?
Mohonin: sounds interesting
Zrak: Voluntary donations instead of taxation?
Resildren: yes
Uadjet: It's voluntary, and if you're in a guild the guild gets credit.
Damola: Haha... Then Damola can boost a certain guild's credibility
Uadjet: But part of it is building fortifications. One screen I saw lists these things:
>Uadjet dropped a Barricade High 1.
Damola: No idea what to do with all of those tria anyway.
>Uadjet dropped a Barricade High 2.
Uadjet: I had a few of these at the "Storm the Castle" event a while back.
Resildren: and catapults
Damola looks at those fortifications "Beautiful? Not so much."
Zrak: Little fire may turn them to ashes
Damola: But might help to defend.
Uadjet: There are also stone walls and floors, and those are just the things I can spawn. There's a lot more in the database.
Uadjet: Food will part of it too, last I checked.
Damola ponders "Or what about a smaller versions of those nice globes that have been in Yliakum since PSUnreal. I think one quite near to Amdeneir."
Damola: A little globe.
Damola: Food?
Uadjet: Towns need to eat too, not just defend themselves.
Damola: How would food play into it?
Damola: How would it be implemented? Public gardens?
Damola: More public fruit trees?
Damola: But really interesting idea to put into the game. I look forward to it.
Damola: I like how Talad goes more and more about extending the game play.
Damola: After having fixed a ton of issues.
Uadjet: For food... Harvesting is easy enough. I wonder if it would be possible for players to plant seeds as well.
Uadjet: I don't know if Talad is planning something like that, but for Listarindel there's some potential farmland across the road.
Damola: That reminds me to make more use of sending letters for example. Maybe we could use that functionality inside an event somehow.
Damola: Well what about some public garden space where citizens and other people can contribute by actually planting stuff there?
Resildren: probably in time for me I'm looking forward to when we can build homes
Damola: There could also be private gardens near guild houses. A bit like in Stardew Valley without duplicating a whole farm simulation. Just throwing in some ideas.
Thosor: guild gardens that are subject to theft, and ways to defend them.
Damola: Actually I would love that and a way to explore. Some player changeable public gardens.
Uadjet: Private garden spaces would be nice, but where would they be placed in a city? Outside a city maybe, or inside under a skylight.
Damola: Cause frankly, currently, ways for players to make the cities their chars live in their own are limited.
Damola: Of course one needs to be careful there to avoid abuse.
Damola: Well in Gug there like would be enough space for that with many guild houses. But Hydlaa or Amdeneir. Difficult. It could also just be some plantable pots.
Damola: Maybe for Amdeneir it could also be some mini fish pond. Maybe just for decoration even.
Uadjet: If we had little plantable pots I could help with those. Guildsimple and guildamdeneir both have areas under a glass ceiling, so they could add gardens inside.
Uadjet: Thosor?
Thosor: Has the whisper tab problem been discussed earlier?
Damola: Not yet.
Thosor: OK
Damola: Any new insights?
Damola: I think Uadjet said back then it has been reported?
Uadjet: Yes, Talad is aware of it but I think the solution is client-side and will require a new release.
Damola: I see. Hopefully he fixes the other chat related issue that is always scrolls to the end when a new message is posted, even if you scrolled up to review some earlier chat.
Damola: I opened a text editor yesterday during the event to scroll up in chat to review older talk.
Thosor: I open the chat log occasionally
Damola: I think I reported this one and I think its my own chat related bug report Talad did not yet fix.
Damola: Thosor, sure, but I should not have to do it just to scroll up a bit to review previous chat in same game session.
Thosor: I agree.
Damola: I wonder whether Talad reviews dev Q&A protocols posted? I bet he does.
Thosor: is annoying if a lot of talk going on.
Damola: Would be good if he did for all the interesting ideas we speak about here.
Damola ponders "Amazing how far PSUnreal has come."
Uadjet: I hit that one myself, trying to scroll up to find teleport coordinates I've used earlier.

Damola: Yeah.
Gonger: Pinky promise to catch up with the missing Q&A summaries tomorrow or Tuesday.
Damola: No pressure, Gonger. I am happy that you do these!
Thosor: Also doesn't scroll to last line in some views.
Resildren: Gonger did you need some part of the logs for yesterday?
Damola: Yeah, right, Thosor. I am not sure whether this one is reported.
Damola: I did not report it, cause I have not yet a clue on when it actually scrolls to the last line or not.
Gonger: Resildren, no thanks, I made it to the event after all.
Thosor: I got back in the cabin when ony a couple were there, before the crowd returned.
Thosor: The wet cabin of yesterday.
Damola: Will Nolthrir cabins of Arden look like this?
Damola: I bet part of the city would be completely under water?
Damola: And there would be larger "houses".
Damola tilts her head "Any other news?"
Resildren: I could see an underwater viilage down in Emerald lake
Damola: Did anyone make more experiences with the new plant harvesting?
Uadjet: Well, that was a serpent gobble tent repurposed for Nolthrir. I think most Nolthrir homes will have a more coral look to them. A few small bulidings were made a while back, as i recall.
Uadjet: but an underwater village just inside the C-shaped island would be amazing.
Resildren nods
Merianna: There are two underwater in the emerald lake, but one can't enter
Resildren: twwo villages? or caves?
Damola: Coral shaped would be an oppurtinity to use a limited set of those beautiful colors of Listarindel, the blueish and turquoise tones including some new ones.
Damola: All of those blue-green colors.
Mohonin: any new items in plan for mining, like amersyt, turquoise etc ?
Damola: Oh that new polymorph glyph in my inventory. Was that reward for yesterdays event?
Uadjet: It was, Damola.
Damola: Thanks, Uadjet!
Uadjet: Well, Talad's got players providing materials for walls, as far as I can see, and we'd need stone, not metal.
Uadjet: So maybe masonry could pop its head into the game?
Resildren: be nice it's listed under skills
Resildren: I would like to see wood working as well)
Uadjet: That would provide some use for the quarries in Amdeneir.
Uadjet: Maybe one could be built outside of where Araloth will be.
Thosor: Isn't that a sawmill in one of the towns?
Thosor: Homestead, I think, on the river.
Resildren: we have stone out in the wild that shows to be of use but not harvestable
Uadjet: There are two mills in Delving. There's the one on the river, which I sort of assumed was there to help turn raw wool into thread. Then there's the windmill, which is used to mill grain.
Thosor: Ah
Thosor: What are Oja windmills for?
Uadjet: Homestead... Does it have a mill? It has a place for leatherworking and dyeing (sp?).
Uadjet: Grain.
Thosor: Prefer water power for grain.
Thosor: Otherwise wait for windy days...
Damola: There could also be some mill powered by magical energy.
Mohonin: for milling grains we need to harvest wheat
Thosor: Ah, the Oja units are magic fans to cool the desert.
Mohonin: to make flour
Uadjet: Yes.
Thosor: Or milled seeds like flaxseed
Uadjet: There is a free sawmill model that I think looks pretty good. I was going to suggest putting it on the Emerald River near Amdeneir since the city is made of wood, but there's no really good way to get up from the river to the city.
Thosor: An up and down sawmill would be good.
Resildren: that's why we added carts
Damola: Amdeneir is made of wood?
Damola: Not completely, I'd say.
Damola: Anyway we passed the hour.
Uadjet: In that case, thank you all for coming and I'll see you again in two weeks!
