Chat Aliased commands
« on: August 21, 2003, 10:56:00 pm »
I\'m sure the dev\'s have already thought of this but I want command aliasing for chat. you know /mygreet translates to /greet /shout yo yo yo what up!!!!! and so on and so forth

with limits on what can be aliased so we don\'t have people aliasing stuff to perform tons of spells and attacks all at once and using it to power level or play.

I\'d much rather see a barrage of customizable GUIs than that

I think that\'s a good idea, especially for long phrases that are used often. Also, for those of us who had to write down phrases on the second quest, you could just link a button to say it instead.

Errrr, that\'s what the /greet animations are for and stuff.  This isn\'t a first person shooter, you\'ve got time to type things, don\'t be so lazy.  Now on the other hand, if this is used for battle phrasing that would make sense, but those would be automated things to say not things you make yourself.
Ninjas have feelings too.  Mostly they feel like dancing.

sorry I\'m not just too lazy too type - but late at night when I am able to finally go online and play - I just cant piece together the darned npc conversations and other things... I\'d much rather be able to click away

This shouldnt be like EQ where there are books devoted to possible commands

Why not have a command bar or a drop down menu with options like: actions, speaking, guild (for guild leaders), fighting, trade. then you could have the other options for that catagory. like in guilds u can chuck players and stuff.

Just an idea.
Attention all minions, Attention all minions. Please make your way to the cheese counter on isle 9, thank you.

I\'d second that - and since this is an open source game you could probably download/make new options with dev approval
