Blacksmiths should be able to add effects to weapons just as well as wizards can - don\'t forget that  Dwarven smithies have created some of the most powerful magical weaponry/armor ever in the Dungeons and Dragons PnP setting.  Just remember that effects added to items arnt necessarily magic: why can\'t they just be pure power?  Isn\'t that giant crystal radiated with power?

I like seeing people work together so how about this:  Warriors are the only characters strong enough to withstand the Crystal\'s radiation for short periods of time if they are buffed appropriately by a mage.  That way a party could make a pilgrimage to the crystals to gain energy to imbue items... just a thought - although if you want magical energy for enchanting it seems to me that that giant crystal is your best bet for \'uber\' items.

Maybe smaller crystal \'shards\' could be dispursed throughout the 8 levels to serve as smaller sources of energy for enchanters to tap into while learning or making basic - mid level items.

You forget that the \"magic\" that wizards use is actually power drawn from the Azure sun...

so you are contradicting yourself... but all I said was actually that the mages, being the ones that harness the power of the crystall into magic, would also be the ones that enchant the weapons of the smiths... but you could always just make a character skilled in both smithing and magic, and enchant your own weapons. But keep in mind that such a character wouldn\'t be able to reach the highest in magic or smithing since that would be unbalancing...

I am new here so could someone explain the skill system... people talk about \'only being able to go so high\' if you choose lots of skills... so will there be a max number of skill points you can reach?  or will this game be like morrowind where if you play [limit going to infinity] hours you can max every skill and stat?

PS... I know you can max everything in morrowind realquick without much effort by using training, but I dont think thatll be a part of this game since people mention difficulty.

The skill system hasn\'t been made official (to my best knowledge at least) but I doubt that they will allow you to max out all skills made available.. such would cause MAJOR balance issues!
