No one chats
« on: July 19, 2003, 04:01:58 am »
Why is it that everyone ignores my character in the game?????   It would be real helpful for a newbie if people would talk back when I ask them a question or say hello...........

I finally got the game to work, and now it would be nice to figure out what is going on with it too.

BTW my character is \"Alisha\", because I thought it would be interesting to play a female character for once

You must get on at an odd hour then, usually someone will help out, no matter how grudgingly they do it...  Sometimes though there aren\'t many people on at all, type /who or go to planeshift.fragnetics.com to see how many people are on.

Of course it would be much prefered that you get all your information from outside the game, like reading the guides at http://www.planeshift.it or http://www.legendarywarriors.tk or you can do a search for \"30 Questions\" in these boards and get a lot of information from the newbie guide that will bring up.

Welcome,

If I\'m online there\'s no doubt you\'d get a reply, Cobrec. ;)

Your problem may be as simple as not using /shout. Remember that only people in your immediate vicinity can hear normal chat, and to speak to as all no matter where you are, you must type /shout before your message.

I\'ll help you if I was online to although forgive if we do meet and I drop of this could be for 2 reasons A) my internet connection has dropped or B) I have placed a sledge hammer firmly through my 56k modem
either of these things are likely to happen

:D Heh. I see I\'m not the only one suffering. The way you worded that is hilarious.

Another thing, I haven\'t been online lately because I\'m at home. That means 56k. I should be on Sunday or Monday. I\'ll have DSL then. ;)

Well I logged in last night,

And hats off to Xenia for helping figure out some of the stuff..... I am still trying to figure out mouse look, cause it actually seems easier to use the keyboard...... Wish Planeshift had more of a Unreal Tournament type of control system for movement........  anyway the server basicly froze so I never got to thank her

I agree that the mouse look is awkward. I think it should be set up like Planetside. Planetside = best UI.

Problem I see with the mouselook is the fact you can\'t interact with the environment when using it, and talking doesn\'t work that well.  Also, yeah, the server was being a pain in the arse last night, kept crashing...

Well I guess it depends on the time you log in.... I finally got ahold of someone and they helped me find the Inn

Also sometimes lag seems to be a big issue, I type in messages and people don\'t get them for a few minutes, so they might not notice them....

If I am on, We can search for crystals Together..... Anyone know any good spots near the inn????
