Environment Variable?
« on: September 07, 2003, 01:05:29 am »
Hi Folks!  :)

I\'m not sure if this thread should be posted here or in the Newbie Section... I apologize if I made a mistake.

I would like to understand the message that appears when I run the CS client, just before entering in graphic mode. It is as follows:

no CEL environment variable set!
Using alternative 3D driver: crystalspace.graphics3D.software
Warning: Failed to load \'csddsimg\'; use \'-verbose\' argument for details.
Warning: Failed to load \'csjngimg\'; use \'-verbose\' argument for details.

One more warning line is shown, but I could not caught it \'cause it changes too fast to graphic mode. I just could see that\'s similar at the preceding two warnings.

Can someone explain that, please?  ?(
Thanks in advance.

Usually the 3 projects ( CEL, Crystal Space, PlaneShift ) are all in different directories so when I build them they build their stuff in their own directories ( ie the shared libraries ).  So it uses a couple of environment vars to figure out where to look.   However, if all the dlls are in the PS dir ( which I believe they are for the release ) then this is not a problem.  I am not exactly sure *who* is reporting this is not set.  But I can take a look.

For the other ones, they are image types that Crystal Space is looking for but are not used by PS.  This should not be mentioned in the future versions of PS since Crystal Space has improved their plugin loading.
