PlaneShift looks very promising!
« on: September 30, 2003, 11:23:31 pm »
I was looking for a UML diagramming tool on SourceForge, and somehow ended up here.  Perhaps it was divine intervention!  :)

I had thought about getting into Ultima Online a while back, but couldn\'t justify the monthly expenditure.  I was hoping there would be a return to the \"good old days\" of MUDding where people could play because they love RPGs.  After reading several topics in the forums, it looks like this community enjoys storytelling and sharing in a collective adventure...  Awesome!

I\'m going to compile the client tonight and mess around with it a bit.  If all goes well I\'ll apply to be a developer.  I used to MUD constantly in college, and loved it!  Now that I work as a software engineer in the \"real world\", I need something interesting to work on in the evenings.

As a side note, I noticed there are a few people here from Denmark.  I have wanted to visit some of my relatives there for quite some time, but now that I know 100Mbit connections are common at the cyber-cafes there I need to visit as soon as possible!  ;)

Talk to you all later.

Welcome to the PlaneShift community, Valrain. :)

If and when you wish to speak to the developers, head over to the public dev IRC channel.

Server: IRC.freenode.com
Channel: #planeshift

The team are always looking for more experienced people, such as yourself, to contribute to the development of the game. I doubt you\'ll have any trouble applying. Seek Vengeance, Talad, Acraig or Boonet primarily.

See you around!

Well, Valrain, I can correct you by saying that it\'s mostly the expensive ones which have the big connections. But welcome anyhow. It\'s always great to get more people on the team who know what they\'re doing, so things get done a little quicker. :D

I think that irc.freenode.com is the dev channel and irc.quakenet.org the fan channel. And Valrain seems to want to see the devs (if he wants to become one)
