Selling items on eBay doesn\'t hurt the economy, so much as it ruins the game experience for everyone else.  It\'s a game, you\'re supposed to work at it to get rewards; people just buying items from other players (with real money) are just ruining the experience for all of us who work hard to get that stuff.

Exactly!

Man are people loaded with cash. How can one be so desperate to go buy imaginary stuff in real time(life)?! Silly humans. :(  X(  ?(

right on, silly, misguided humans...  people are stupid.  it\'s a proven, scientific fact.  of course, the ones who do trade on e bay would detract from the quality of gameplay, why not have the devs write a letter to ebay(when the game comes out)  and ask them not so allow sale of any PS items, and see what kind of response you get?

Jessyn,

I think the problem is that there is nothing technically illegal about selling virtual items on eBay.  The way it goes (I think), the devs have no more authority in preventing people from selling PS items because it ruins the game experience, than I have preventing people from selling leather products because I think it\'s inhumane to animals (BTW this is just an example).  But do you see what I\'m getting at?

If the devs wished to have legal grounds to stop ebay sales then have the character creation process include a user license forbiding the sale which you would have to agree to to finish and upload the character. That should do the trick.

Hmmmm, I suppose that could work.  But don\'t take my word for it; we need the approval of a lawyer (I guess they\'re good for something)  :D

Sony can, and does, ban sale of characters and items on eBay and other places.  Some websites enforce it, others don\'t.  I do know players will be banned and accounts deleted (thereby money going up in smoke) if they are caught.
