Skills for later
« on: January 24, 2004, 03:32:46 pm »
I was just thinking, (like probably someone far before me, sorry) in the beginning of the game you choose a few skills. Lets say: Weapons, stealth and swimming. So after a while, some jobs and quests later you found a guild and your skills are up quite a bit. But now you would like to learn an armor skill. But you didnt select that one in the beginning, so are you able to learn that one skill, of even a lot more. Offcource you other skills will go down with the rising of the others I know that.

It probably a question that has had some though already, but I would just like to know.
Thanks, Quwaar

This belongs in Wishlist. :)

I think you will be able to use any skill in the game (except race-dependant skills such as Klyros\' gliding/flying). Skills you choose at the beginning of the game would be your \'favourites\', that is, you gain points in those skills faster, or you start with more points in those skills than if you did not choose them.

There are quite some threads about skill degradation in the wishlist section, you might want to read those ;)

My question wasnt about skills decreasing, I know that. Im not THAT noob. But about learning other skills in a later stadium of playing the game, but I see your pint about the wish list part. I figured that there was already something like this, so I pt it in this topic.

afaik, the skills you choose at the beginning are just the skills that you gain a bonus to.  You can still learn the other skills in the game.  Technically you could try and learn all of the skills, but you wouldn\'t become amazing at any of them.
