why dont you do the first thing. and then when ur waiting for a) acraig (you) they can just help you work on the program and get it done faster. seems a way better idea ihmo....

Nice in theory but doesn\'t really work.  If you have several people building a house and the roof is taking a long time do you call over the guys doing the plumbing and say, \"You need to help me finishing these highly precise cuts on the roof\". Most likely you would have to spend more time explaining what to do then if you just did it yourself.

It can help a little but I don\'t think you would see a big gain in speed. The tasks are assigned out for two reasons.  1) The person is very good at the work needed for the task 2) The person wants to work on that task.  If you make people work on stuff they don\'t want to do or know little about then it is harder for them to really get into it.

ok i see. so basically what you guys are trying to do now is find the tasks that are hard. work on them first and then get the other teeny tiny individual things out of the way later.?

Pretty much, a lot of the core systems are in place now which is why I think it would be easier to have quicker updates since the tasks should not take as long.   As Vengeace said, we will discuss it when we figure out what we want to do post CB. If the tasks are large then we may take a couple of months to do an update, if the tasks are small then can be quicker.  It really is up in the air at the moment about how it will work out.

hmm, you could think of it like this:

A, B, and C finish.. but D still has 2 weeks worth to do.

So, A, B, and C start work on the next update, adding the updates into a different folder, while D finishes. Once D finishes, the update is released, and the next update is half done. It probably doesn\'t work that smoothly though...  :P  :D
