When i open run_first_time.bat it closes straight away so i have no-way of doing anything but im running windows xp prof any ideas ?

Make sure you placed all the files in the same dir.
Open the run_me_first batch file in something like notepad and check if the filenames match the ones in your folder. If not, edit them accordingly.
