Just follow the instructions. :)

1. Download the following: PSV0.2.010.Part1, PSV0.2.010.Part2, PSV0.2.010.Part3, PSV0.2.010.Part4, PSV0.2.010.Part5 and the run_me_first.bat file.

2. Make sure they\'re all in the same folder.

3. Run the run_me_first.bat file.

4. Look in the folder and notice the newly created .exe file.

5. Run this file to install the game.

6. Once it\'s installed, run the Updater program, which can be found in the main PlaneShift directory or by going to Start > Programs > Planeshift > Updater.

7. Run PSSetup.exe which can also be found in the above location.

8. Now you\'re ready to load the game, create a character, and log in.

Yes, that small black screen you saw was the run_me_first file. It should have created the planeshift installer that now should be in the same folder as the other files.

That black box is the command prompt, which executes the batch file. As the batch requires no user input, Windows stupidly decides to close it before you can read it.
You may wish to try and run it directly from the command prompt to see if some sort of error is produced.

As Moogie said, make sure all 5 of the parts are in the same directory as the batch file.  Its fairly foolproof as long as you follow directions, as its really only one command that\'s being executed.

Sometimes though the files get renamed when you download them. (ex. PSV0.2.010.Part1 becomes PSV0[1].part1)
It has been known to happen sometimes.

So it\'s also good to check if the filenames match the ones given in the batch file.
