Well this wish is about a common problem that could be encountered in many MMORPGs, especially in ones where magic weapons are pretty easy to come by. It is quite common phenomenon that a warrior would name the weapon which he had by his side for a long while. Of course that would especially occur when the weapon was enchanted. But what if the warrior who used his shortsword with the orotund name of \"Death\'s Scythe of Doom\" finds a weapon which is much stronger than his shortsword?
I think this could be fixed by letting players make their own magic weapons instead. So just like a sword passed in family from father to son, a character would be able to create a sword very close to him. Such development would take time and could be made thanks to the glyphs. For example a character who met a mage could target him and type /enchant. A test depending on owner\'s weapon skill and enchanter\'s way (of the glyph) skill would decide whether the ritual was successful. Such weapon with one glyph wouldn\'t be powerful nor would it have a visual effect (We don\'t want everyone running around with light sabers, now do we?).
But it should be a possibility to add further glyphs. The test would be affected by previous glyphs as well, for example:
4 crystal glyphs, another crystal glyph added - would require a mage with amazing skill in the Crystal Way.
2 red glyphs, 2 azure glyphs, a crystal glyph added - would require a mage with decent skills in Red, Azure and Crystal Ways.
More glyphs would also require higher weapon skill of the weapon\'s owner.
Maybe there should also be a longer time which both (owner and caster) have to wait until they can participate in such ritual again.
Lastly, the weapons would have effects basic for glyphs used:
red glyphs - fire damage
brown glyphs - defense
crystal glyphs - additional damage against dark creatures, protection from dark spells
azure glyphs - weapon speed
Or depending on special effect the glyph has.
