Following a discussion on IRC where Xordan posted this link, I downloaded and viewed it myself... apart from being absolutely awestruck with the sheer scale of compression (1.5gb into 63kb) and the genius of this movie\'s coders, I thought I saw something familiar... here\'s some screenshots.

Watching the part with the Ojaveda-esque towers made me imagine what the Enkidukai homeland would look like in PlaneShift...


Anyways... yeah, that is some awe-inspiring stuff, no? It\'s incredible.

Eh finally got to the end of it this time... yeah that\'s what I thought it was, a drawing instruction set.  I didn\'t know you could actually do it to that extent though... jeese.

The demo has a compression rate of 30000:1 and has 1.9GB of data in it o_O
Theres not really that much resemblance, more so in the shots and angles they were both taken from

:O the planeshift devs are the same people that made that clip, or they just ripped the graphics from eachother or venge\'s brother helped in coding this thing and got inspiration while venge told him about the planeshift project! :O

seriously, they don\'t even resemble that much.. there are no ladders on the ojaveda pic, but..those other thingies instead. the only thing that might make them look the same is the fact that it are both basicly 4 pipe shaped objects.. I\'m sure you can find loads of other things like this on the internet.

Abemore\'s pic is the same, sure they bear some resamblence... but only the very basic shapes. the bronze doors are DOORS, it\'s not that hard to make two doors look a bit alike. So all there is is that they both have 2 things on the sides that both have about the same shape.. wow

Calm down dude... I know they arn\'t possibly the same. I was pointing it out because it made me wonder how the things would look in full 3D in the future of PlaneShift. Plus it was an excuse to post that link.

I see the resemblance of both pics, and don\'t see why you can get so worked up about nothing... gimps...
