I'd like to know....

I\'d like to know what motivates the developers in wanting to achieve such abitious goals with PlaneShift, goals that, I must say, impress me very much to say the least.
Anyway, good luck to the developers and congratulations on what you have already acomplished!

I would guess that it\'s the sense of satisfaction that you get when you know you\'ve achieved something difficult.

Ever tried to make a game or similar project?  It\'s sheer love of the art, man.  There\'s nothing like having a cool idea and seeing it in front of you, actually THERE.

That, and I suspect it\'ll look good on their resumes ;)

Why not have high goals, I think what the dev\'s are trying to accomplish goes into trying to break the mold that all mmorpg\'s seem to be forced into.  If something is worth doing it is worth doing well.  When they succeed in doing what they have set out to do I feel that it will have a huge impact on the genre.  This can only be good for the genre, even if they only accomplish half of what we are all expecting.
For example look at the new video, what is shown is on par with any other mmog currently out there, and it\'s free.  I believe that PS will make all the other Publishers out there stand up and take notice.
