Im new and extremely interested
« on: August 25, 2004, 06:12:32 am »
This game looks as if it will be a Masterpeice,
I request some simple information
I understand the games in development but i have a few questions

1. Is there any Combat yet?

2. Are there Any monsters to fight.
If not when are they sceduled to be put in the game?

3. on average how many people play on this game at a time?

4. what is the expected date of completion on this game (if any)

I may have more questions in the future
Thank you for your time ^_^

Guesses:  Average of around 15-25.  For next version we hope to average ~100

No idea really, we don\'t even know when the next release will be :).

Next release: Christmas 2003 (Well, last I heard :D )

As for your questions to the scope of the game, they hope it will never be truly finished. Pretty much, though, this release is 100MB. 90% of the code has been changed, which means there should be about 10MB of this release left after the next one. The next release was projected to be about 380MB or more. This means 370MB of more stuff for us to do! 8o  ;)

You\'ll know when the rest of us do, Edward. I expect they\'ll put the release up for download on the website, and announce it both in these forums and on the mailing list. It certainly won\'t be hard to find.

I assume it will, but if not, you can get programs that let you resume downloading...

How about bittorrent? You can resume the download whenever you want, and it\'s free.

If there are enough mirrors, then perhaps only the minimum files necessary to run the updater can be distributed, and then the updater run to grab the rest of the game?  It does things on a file-by-file basis, so it might be possible to design it for interruption.

And, as nobody has pointed out yet, all these questions have been asked repeatedly on these forums and the answers can be found by using the search button. Not that I don\'t appreciate your interest, but posting a thread is seldomly a good way to get basic info like this. After all, how big is the chance that you\'re the first one who might ever have had these questions? Slim, if not zero.

Seytra: Everyone was so shocked that he was actually polite that no one bashed him.

Also, perhaps since acraig posted people thought that he approved of such practices... >_>
