Linkin Park rox mmmmk, their lyrics do make sense Joey you actually have to give them a chance and listen to them instead of just conforming with some of these other peoples thoughts on the band. When probally most of these people have only listened to one song or none at all and made a judgement upon it.

Metal is alright, I listened to two songs kinda cultish but alright it was cool, but surely it wasn\'t anything worth buying maybe just ripping.

I know their lyrics make sense, I\'ve heard them. I was talking about Dio, sorry if that wasn\'t clear. I never insult a band without listening to them first. I have many songs by terrible bands such as Blink 182 and Linkin Park. I check out bands before insulting them.

As for your second point, what is worth downloading? Besides a Dandy Warhols album, I\'ve only bought music that I couldn\'t download anywhere (Mis-Load, Run Lola Run soundtrack[<--buying this soon]).

How clever and original (<--sarcasm).

It seriously saddens me the way rap has degraded to crap like you hear now. I never liked the genre, but it used to be somewhat respectable. Now it\'s a steaming pile of crap, but know that not all rap is like that.

Well for one, metal was the response for mass selling out in music. It\'s music made for music, so it shows that money shouldn\'t rule every aspect of our life :P

I\'d have to agree with RussianVodka about the rap thingy :P
Maybe I\'m biased against something being called music if it doesn\'t use normal instruments and doesn\'t include singing, but \"rapping\", but hey ;)
And it has slang full of weird namings for guns and drugs... yes, I think it\'s degeneration of our culture...

Don\'t make opinions about metal just by listening to Rhapsody ;)

Ok wait just a minute no all rap has degraded, your right most of it has but their still is a few good rappers out there who don\'t dip into Booty Shaking Hoes and Gangster crap.

As for me listening to rap I did for so long just because I didn\'t want to listen to pop or some of these rock punk bands , I do like LP and nothing ever can change that

Yes, I think that\'s the distinction. Just like there\'s metal and shitty nu metal, there\'s rap and shitty \"gangsta\" rap.

Depthblade, I respect your musical tastes. OK, I don\'t, but I respect their right to exist. And Draklar\'s right about the metal. Rhapsody is metal for smelly D&Der\'s. Draklar, being a smelly D&Der, enjoys it. If you aren\'t a smelly D&Der, there\'s good reason that you wouldn\'t like it. ;) All metal is a bit \"cultish\", though. Just in different ways.

Nu Metal is not Metal X(

And D&D pfft... get your facts right... Power Metal maniacs are ending up like this: http://www.metalstorm.ee/comics/characters.php#Sven :P
Check Percy while you\'re at it ;)

Imo Demons and Wizards is the best example of nowadays Metal... best way to know what Metal is like, is by listening to them...

and I checked Rainbow\'s Stargazer... hmm... Rock/Metal
well, I liked it, altho\' not something I\'d really get into...

About those earlier Rainbow and Dio talks. If you really feel like doing some digging try finding the Elf album. That was Ronnie James Dio\'s band before Rainbow. I have a copy around somewhere, maybe when I get home I\'ll try and put a few songs up somewhere to hear.

As far as rap goes, most of it is crap now I agree, but there are still a few real respectable and quite good acts out there. Groups like the Roots, who by the way play all their own instruments, or Spearhead or stuff like that. Most rap now though is pre processed garbage that anyone on a street corner can do.
