CSinitializer :: SetupConfigManager Failed! HELP
« on: October 02, 2004, 03:35:16 pm »
Greeting and Salutations
I\'ve been reading threads since 3a.m. and though I saw similiar questions asked I can\'t seem to find the answer.
I was messing around with VB and downloaded the source files with CVS I already had PS working good but decided to see if I could help the Developers  :D and screwed something up :rolleyes:  I reinstalled PS and now every time I start I get the following errors

<<<>>>
WARNING: could not load plugin \'crystalspace.kernel.vfs\'
Couldn\'t load vfs plugin!
WARNING: could not load plugin \'crystalspace.kernel.vfs\'
WARNING: could not load plugin \'crystalspace.kernel.vfs\'
Couldn\'t load vfs plugin!
Error: Couldn\'t find vfs plugin!
Press any key to continue......
<<<<>>>>>>
the vfs.cfg  file is there

<<<<>>>>
No CEL environment variable set
Warning: could not load plugin \'crystalspace.kernel.vfs\'
couldn\'t load vfs plugin!
csinitializer :: SetupConfigManager Failed!
Is your CRYSTAL environment set?
exiting planeshift.  press enter......
<<<<>>>>>>

<<<<>>>>
wont even run just a blank console then poof it closes

sys. specs
cpu= Atholon clocked at 998mhz
ram= 512 dual channel ddr
os= windows xp sp2 home edition
video= Radeon 9800 128meg
dx= 9
audio= SB audigy new drivers

As I understand it from the threads CEL environment and Crystalspace.kernal.vfs warning are normal. As ps starts looking through the config files. In notepad I see why, It gets renamed. I was playing PS fine up until I decided to try my hand at some coding  :(
any ideas would be appreciated I have redownloaded
with the new .bat and the check sum says everything is fine. Just can\'t get it to start...

If you want to compile the CB CVS you not just only need Planeshift sources, you also need the newest CS, CEL and Cal3D sources.
Look here for much more detailed information:
http://www16.brinkster.com/acraig/planeshift/building.html

If you want to revert to goold old MB install it as usual and set the exports back to their original locations for MB.

Yeah, your exports are not set correctly:

I\'m not sure if CS and CEL are included in the tarball from the download page, but try to set the exports to your PS dir:

export CRYSTAL=
export CEL=

But you arer better off if you compile MB from CVS: http://www16.brinkster.com/acraig/planeshift/buildmb.html

Or you just wait for CB to be finally released ;)

edit: fixed the quote
