I dont like the Lord of the ring adaptation (the books were better really better)

My prefered movie (sorry for the translation)
- the butterfly effect (L\'effet papillon)
- fight club
- a beautiful mind (un homme d\'exception)
- underworld
- forest gump (I loved it before... today I must watch at it again)
- road trip
- les rivi?res pourpres (maybe the purple rivers... its a french movie with jean reno and Matthieu kassovitch but a big super production)

- I liked he beginning of the \"28 jours plus tard\"\'s movie (maybe \"28 days after\"... an english movie).

What I really dislike :
- David Kronenberg\'s movies
- Quentin Tarentino\'s movie

Generally I like the movies which surprise me : the most of the american movies dont surprise me and Im able to tell you how it will finish or who is the killer very quickly... there is no suspens... something like a d?j? vu... its annoying...

EDIT :
the Studio Ghibli\'s movies too

My favorite movie is Shallow Hal. :) It\'s about a really shallow guy named Hal (hence the name!) who can only see the outer beauty in women, and gets a charm put on him by a rich man so that he can see the inner beauty, too. He meets a really heavy-set girl, but he sees her as a beautiful, thin girl. They fall in love, but soon, the spell wears off and Hal can see the real her... It has a sad ending. :(

Sorry about that, got carried away....

Les Rivi?res pourpres / The Crimson Rivers was so good but the dubbed one was so different to the subtitled. If anyone is going to see it I would say go for the subtitled one. (or learn French)

I would have to agree that Thumb movies are great.

I also like all of the Star Wars and LOTR series and, of course, Jurassic Park.
hmmm....
Lots of good movies out there, I\'ll do some categories:

Foreign(to America): Maria Full of Grace

Blockbuster: Pirates of the Carribean, Ocean\'s Eleven(and 12)

Historical Fiction: Kingdom of Heaven, King Arthur, The Last Samurai

Comedy: Spaceballs, Monty Python (everything by them), Napolean Dynamite, Shaun of the Dead, The Three Amigos, Leslie Nielson movies, Blazing Saddles, True Lies

Animated: The Lion King, The Incredibles, Shrek 1+2, The Jungle Book

Musicals: Mary Poppins, Moulin Rouge, The Sound of Music

Thoughtful: Hotel Rwanda, Shawshank Redemprtion, The Village, American History X, Sin City, (I just can\'t seem to think of more right now, though I know they are out there)

Scary: Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon, The Others, What Lies Beneath, Signs, Saw, The Sixth Sense

Action: T2, Predator, The Matrix

That\'s about all I can think of right now, it\'s kind of late.
