Will Planeshift work on my computer?
« on: November 19, 2004, 10:22:20 pm »
I\'ve wanted to get PlaneShift for ages and I got Molecular Blue which was extremely slow and looked through the forums which recommended waiting for Crystal Blue which will somehow be faster, is a 40GB computer with 56 kb/ps modem and 128 MB Ram going to be fast enough? Some one please reply I need to know before I can download it.

Well you can\'t download crystal blue right now, it hasn\'t been released to general public yet.
Crystal Blue will be more optimized with better code so hopefully less lag and things like that but that won\'t necessarily make it faster.

A few things you didn\'t mention is what kind of video card you have and what kind of procesor you have or what operating system you are using, but even still you will probably need more RAM. 128mb just doesn\'t cut it for much anymore you really need at least 256mb-512mb now a days.

Really, the only way to tell would be to download it and try it for yourself. of course make sure you have the latest drivers for everything. especially the video crad. I went from .1 frames per second with the stock drivers that came with windows xp for my GeForce 4, to over 70 FPS with the drivers from nVidias website.

The ones that comes with XP doesn\'t have OpenGL, that would explain it
