EDIT: i mean fight in a good way. not a caotic way. and plz. look at all other guilds before joining this 1. i made that mistake once. dont want u to too.make sure its the right one.

Yeah well I can be quite the stubborn person with a lil bit of a problem with authority. That \'s why I barely come over as devoted to most causes.
However I am also a good team player and loyal to the team once I join. My stubborness is usually made up by my honor and loyalty. Once I know I \'m also wanted I will be devoted.

So ..  nice speech ..  but I just want to say blind devotion isn\'t everything either ;) I \'d rather have members who are sometimes reluctant but think for themselvers than those who are devoted and follow blindly. Of course sometimes one has to do the latter as well.

Oh and you don\'t have to hold back on me .. I can take it! *bangs fist against his chest* .. owwww *cringes* Dang that armor \'s hard! (yes I also have a sense of humor sometimes :P )

Have you not been listening little grasshopper? We are a guild of new, that are not held back by laws of old. Blindly following a leader is a law of old. i meant blindly fighting for good :) well, not that either. anyway. in this guild you do not \"follow.\" We are all equals. only diffrence between us is a name of a rank. work hard. get the game down. and you too will share that rank. You can try out Zan. Post in my new sticky on the raven guard forums. we will take you in as a new born raven test u watch u blah blah blah...and is you qualify. you are in.

I\'m just curious... What\'s a Raven, and why would you want to guard it? And what is that strange yellow glowing orb in the picture?

(OOC: You do know Ravens are a symbol of evil and death and such, right? I\'m not sure it would be smart to put that together with being goodies... Especially not if you guard the Ravens. Maybe we have a secretly evil guild in the making, here? ) :)

v. intr.

n.

    Variant of ravin.

rav?in also rav?en   Audio pronunciation of \"ravin\" ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (rvn)
n.

   1. Voracity; rapaciousness.
   2. Something taken as prey.
   3. The act or practice of preying.

Raven symbolism isn\'t restricted to \'evil\' things you know.

\"In Alaska, the Koyukon see the raven as the Creator of the Earth, moon, stars, people and sun. Oral history relates that the raven first made people from rocks, but they proved to be too strong, so the raven destroyed the people and recreated them with sand instead. The Koyukon also described the raven as a trickster. They say that the raven put mosquitoes on the earth to plague the people because, at the time, their way of life had no difficulties. They also say that water once flowed in two directions at the same time, but again the raven believed that it made life too easy for people, so he made the water flow only downstream. Because of these beliefs, the Koyukon consider the raven to be sacred. It is considered strong taboo to kill a raven in their culture.\"

\"Among the aboriginal peoples of the Pacific northwest coast of North America, the Master of Life takes the form of a raven.  It is Raven who welcomes humans as they emerge from a pea pod or a clamshell.  In a different cycle of myths, it is Raven who swallows the Moon, and he insinuates himself into the world of human beings by transforming into a mere pine needle.\"

And even in more modern and recent things ravens can play a positive role. Look at the Raven\'s tower in Great Brittain. Here the ravens represent the wellbeing of the Brittish royalty.

One shouldn\'t refer to a dictionary when trying to say something about symbolism. Dictionaries are used for literal and *some* figurative meanings of words.

Also the phrase Raven Guard doesn\'t have to imply guarding a raven ;)

The \"orb\" is a little thing called the \"azure\" sun -.- Secondly. The Raven thing was my idea. i had read a book about a white raven a few days before. it showed change in the species (we show change in guilds.) and symbolized peace (as do we) i hope that explains it. well..the orb is goin down..time to sleep -.- Well done zan! Bravo Bravo!encore!!

O and when i said equals i meant that a apprentices opinion counts as much as an elders or even the master ravens.

Good stuff Zan, Also nice to see your promoting bias by leaving out this one

ra?ven1    ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (rvn)
n.
A large bird (Corvus corax) having black plumage and a croaking cry.

;)

I dont like stereotypying things, I got some things from http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/ravens/ravens.html

\"Generally, birds don\'t get credit for being smart animals. Just think of the way the expression \"bird-brained\" is used. But corvids, which include magpies, crows, and ravens in particular, flutter in the face of this negative stereotype. Their behavior is often so clever, cunning, fun-loving, smart, and witty that it has motivated researchers to try to explain why. In fact, some scientists consider these black-feathered scavengers\' position on the intelligence spectrum to be on par with canids such as wolves, coyotes, and dogs, and have conducted experiments to try to quantify the raven\'s brain power\"

\'NATURE\'s Ravens explores how these all-black creatures acquired their dual and contradictory images -- as birds of both life and death\'

The Raven Has Two Sides, One Of Upholding good, one of defeating Evil

What are ravens?? maby you should look at the \"ravens came to your house when u were born\" specal event ^_^

All very nice reasons. heres another. yes. ravens might symbolize evil and darkness. but the term \"we will kill for the greater good\" means we wil kill. even if it is in an evil way. as long as ts for the greater good.

And one little thingy that most forget Ravens are one of the most intelligent race of the birds.

True, but personally my money is on the Minah Bird Guild.

Also, what I don\'t get is... the Master RAVEN of the RAVEN guard is named ROBINmagus. How does that work?
