« on: January 05, 2005, 07:42:31 pm »
Happy new years everyone,

The MacOSX beta forum seems very silent, is this good or bad?

oh, SirPeter in one of your posts you said you got the osx verion to work how did you do it? Does it still work for you?

I don\'t know, I can\'t seem to even launch the client anymore as it keeps crashing on my as does the updater.

I don\'t know if anybody else has gotten it to consistently work, though.

The person working on making the mac release got married and was on his honeymoon when CB was released, but now he\'s back and he\'s working again to get the mac distribution out.
His name is dfryer, and he can be observed in his native habitat in Canada, or in IRC (as dfryer, or course :)).

Ok, so I built a mac image, and we decided to just go wild and put it on the main site.. and guess what, there were a couple un-fixed references to cal3d.  So, in case any of you are still interested, it\'s now publically available but not-quite-mature :)

Thanks for all your patience.

Welcome back dfryer :), hope that the honeymoon went well ;-P

Just downloaded the disk image, launched the client and as you mentioned I get this error message as expected:

dyld: /Applications/PlaneShift 3D/psclient.app/Contents/MacOS/psclient can\'t open library: /usr/local/lib/libcal3d.10.dylib

Where can I download the missing file, can\'t find it in Fink.

btw ( the updater still only downloads the repos.zip file and does nothing else this might be normal? )

ahh back to beta testing.

The file is not missing - you can fix the problem by copying psclient.app/Contents/Resources/libcal3d.10.dylib to /usr/local/lib

When I do fix the problem, however, it would be nice if you could remove the /usr/local/lib copy so that it doesn\'t cause trouble in the future.

Thanks!

Heh, I\'ve always had the toolbar, not sure why it\'s suddenly disappeared!  I\'ll look  into it.

Thanks,
Daniel

tool bar issue was one of the bugs I first put in.
Its rather annoying to have it there but invisible. :P
It does work however.  the trick is to remember which button is where :D

I going to put a recent post here so that people browsing the subject will know:  The Mac client and updater are working!
