Double-clicking issue
« on: February 23, 2005, 10:57:41 pm »
I am still not able to double click and open either the client or the updater.  Does anyone have a solution to this?

Thanks,
b

If you have a Good and Happy version of vfs.cfg, then psclient.app should open on a double-click.  I promise that a Good and Happy version will be included in the soon-to-be available new full download, or can be found linked to in several threads.

If you do have a Good and Happy version of vfs.cfg in the same folder as psclient.app and it still doesn\'t double-click-open, then I\'d be interested in seeing what Console.app has to say about the situation

Oooh, just thought of something.  The updater has recently been trashing \"executable\" bits on psclient and updater, try executing the command \"chmod 755 psclient.app/Contents/MacOS/psclient\" and \"chmod 755 updater.app/Contents/MacOS/updater\"

If that fails, fill me in with Teh Details (tm)

I guess it was just the vfs.cfg file.  Thanks!

As I said, you drink for free in Los Angeles.

Well, I\'ll try, but I\'m not that good at the linking in the forums and such...

http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/planeshift/planeshift/vfs.cfg?rev=1.6&view=text

Hope that helps!  Could someone tell me how to get those links?  Thanks!

Thankyou for the file. But the app still wont lunch with a double click. Permissions have been checked and the vfs.cfg file changed. Running PS from the terminal works fine with no errors. Any ideas?

I think you have to replace vfs.cfg after the update.  right now, my client still crashes, so I\'m not really the one to ask.  Sorry!
