File Copy Error

I\'ve looked around and havn\'t found anything about this so if somebody knows whats wrong or can help at all please let me know :)

9:58pm +10GMT (australia) is the current time...... I was in planeshift about an hour or so ago when the server guy poped up and said the server was going down to update and that the clients would also need updating.

All standard happening, yes.... However when the server came back online and I went to update, I got this error when it tried to update the updater.

\"File Copy Error

          Couldn\'t copy file cspngimg.dll!
          The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process (32)

                             RETRY - CANCEL\"

NOTE: that this error pops up again and again for several different files.


So that do I do... I start looking through my processes lol, hoping to find something obvious..... nothing.
I restared my system incase something had gotten lodged in memory or somesuch, but still no luck... Same thing happens every time.

Hope someone can shed some light on this.

Ok I muddled around a bit and came up with a fix. :)

For some reason the error was simply caused by the updater not closing itself in order to update... when (or if you recieve this message) just close the updater window and click RETRY.

I\'m currenty updating the planeshift files and all seems well now.... I\'ll see how it goes and post again in the unlikely event that another error should occur from this.

If I dont post again then all is good ;)

ye i had the same problem, i just extracted the new updater RAR over the old files nad it wrks now!! :]

Which window do you close.. i get a black box.. the updater window and the error msg.

This isn\'t working for me. When i close the \"Planeshift Updater\" and click retry, the \"DOS\"-Window closes but nothing happens. If I close the other window first, nothing happens either.
When I try to start the updater manually from \"/updatertemp\" it crashes.

Closing the updater and then pressing \"retry\" didn\'t work for me (only copied the 1 file that caused the error, then didn\'t continue, which makes sense since the updater was closed. I suppose restarting the updater over and ver for every file might work.)


hEaDbUsTeR\'s method worked fine for me though:

* Run the updater, wait for the \"File Copy Error\", close the updater and the error window.
* In the folder where you installed PlaneShift, go to the folder named updatertemp, it should be filled with about 25 files.
* Copy all files except updater.zip and repos.zip from that folder to the main PlaneShift folder
* Run the updater again, now it shouldn\'t give an error and update your game nicely.
