Hydlaa Festival of the Hunt

Fellow citizens of Yliakum ...

I would like to present to you the first grand Hydlaa Festival of the Hunt. Hopefully the first of many to come.

It will be a day filled with games, competition, entertainment and of course .. food. There will be tournaments where the strongest and bravest of us can show what they are worth. But strength isn\'t everything to a hunter, what good is being able to strike down your target if you cannot find it first? This is why we will test our hunter\'s skills by organizing a large hunt. There will also be a gambling corner, storytelling and best of all .. free food for everyone who visits, while supplies last. Of course there are also prizes going to our winners.

All in all it will be a day you cannot miss to be a part of. Nobody wants to be that person who hears all the tales afterwards and wishes they had just been there.

Now for the technical details, this event will likely be organized the third or fourth saturday of april. Lasting at least several hours, hopefully all day long. It will be located at the arena (take the road through the mountains next to the blacksmith to get there) and everyone will be welcome. Whether you are a newbie, experienced player, RPer or power leveler .. there will be something to do for you.

More info on the specific games and attractions will follow. Also some will require registration in advance, which will also be provided in due time.

Right now I am looking for more sponsors to donate the prizes for the winners and the food. We can also use referees for the various tournaments, some assistants to help out with the hunting game and everyone who has some more ideas or plans to include in this festival.

I am also looking for a few people willing to hold some dice games and perhaps a story teller or two to entertain the masses.

Then lastly I need some people who are willing to hand out the food to the visitors.

The only requirements are that you can be online for a couple hours on saturdays and are responcible enough to handle the tasks. For the sponsors, they can personally hand out the prizes if they desire but if they can\'t or don\'t want to be there they can also hand their donations to me and I will hand them out in their name.

I can\'t pay anyone or give any sort of reward other than the satisfaction of entertaining the people.

so this is your project. Nice but i see one problem with it. The wipe . If it happens before your \"event\" then I don\'t think you\'ll have enought money to to pull it of. Or have you some arangement with the GM\'s or devs (is that what they are called?) ?

True, but it would be good to give it a test to see what the outcome would be. therefor it could be repeated after the wipe on the full version. Cossack, just saying that he would have to buy everything himself. If it did happen, th gms would help put it togther. They would also have to add graphics etc so it is quite a big job when you think about it.

Love this idea and will try to be there if not compeating to at least watch. And I wouldnt worry about the wipe, I am a former MB player and the wait from when they said CB would be here till the time it finaly came, well lets just say I wouldnt worry bout the wipe soon.

The wipe will come when the main bugs are fixed (I made a thread on it). As for the idea, I already said I could help organize it. Iv been with PS for the last 2 years and yes, they do take long but a wipe is much different then a new game version keep that in mind.

Ah yes the wipe ... I have thought about it and I consider it a minor problem. Should it occur there are some things which will obviously decrease because of a lack of money and skills but the festival itself will still continue as much as possible. The only things that we would lose because of a wipe would be the free food and prizes for the winners, but this can still be a great day even without those material things. After all knowing you are the best is already a reward in itself.

I forgot to mention this before but the wipe, should it occur won\'t stop this event from taking place. Money is not essential ... the people are.

Burntleaf, you are right this is the first time I, or anyone else by my knowledge, has pulled off something to this extent. So in a way it will be a trial and because of the future wipe coming that is not a problem really. People don\'t mind spending their money and time away from getting better to have some fun because it will all be lost soon anyway.

If my idea really hits off and it could be perfected by the GM\'s and maybe even the developers, with graphics and the like that would be great.

Draklar .. I was going to ask you if you were interested but since you beat me to it I would be honored to give you a place to share your stories.

Cossack, yes there will be many gladiator battles planned. There are going to be one on one duels divided in three categories: unarmed, weapons and magic. Aside from that I hope to organize some team tournaments as well as guild battles.

your right but my thoughts is the wipe will be when the new SB comes out cause they wouldnt do a wipe then maybe have to do another wipe for new version right

Ignoringing Snowwolf\'s question, they said they are \"gradiually\" gonna evolve into SB which sounds kinda wierd and perplexes me but the wipe will be before. I think way before, but dont take my word for it because anything can happen. In my opinion, this wipe has to be done soon, along with the MAIN correction of bugs.
