Yeah, I agree in some ways. People will come and go. Most of the people I know now I didn\'t know when I first started playing PS back in AB. And most of the people I knew in AB I don\'t know anymore now. In a few years the community will be different again. I don\'t think that there\'s a problem with the community at all. I just think that most people dislike change.

Yeah, lots of people leave, but then lots of new people also arrive. Amongst those new people will arise the new gems of the community to carry the flag and... or... something like that, anyway. Kiern is right. :P

Besides, griefers also leave. The more \'Seps\' that disappear the better, if you want the community to sound nicer in the forums that is.

There\'s nothing you can do to stop people leaving if they think its all too much for them. The strongest stick around and sweat it out and live to see a better time.

Yeah, there\'s lots of gems arriving in Planeshift.
I mean, we have lots of diamonds like Kada, right?

Sure I might think that nowaday\'s gems usually turn out to be nothing more than painted glass, but that\'s just me. :)

Last I looked, Kada is mostly -if not all- gone too. Otherwise we wouldn\'t have an elf behind the bar right now.

Add painted glass can be pretty too. Though it breaks easily.

btw, diamonds are not as rare and valuable as you are lead to believe, and kind of cold and ugly if you ask me.
Kada is more of a rare flower. Full of life and sweetness. Not some worthless rock.

And there I failed to sound sarcastic ;(

Anyway, a flower is not a gem...

And suffice is to say that when I call someone by an inanimate object, it should be taken figuratively. :O

Diamond:
Its incomparable hardness makes this precious stone an appropriate symbol for durability and constancy; its clarity yields the notions of constancy, sincerity, and innocence. The diamond is light, life, the sun; it is an emblem of purity and perfection, of invincible spiritual power, and it is the stone of committment, faithfulness, and promise between husband and wife. Symbol of light and brilliance; unconquerable; treasures, riches, intellectual knowledge.

I don\'t see Kada as flower anyway :\\

I was taking you figuratively, and I didn\'t miss the sarcasm. But to counter:

Diamond myths

Diamonds are very rare.
There is more of a man-made shortage than a natural shortage of diamonds. The distribution of diamonds put on the market each year is highly regulated by De Beers. One figure has stated that there are enough diamonds to give each man, woman and child in the United States an entire cup full of them. (ya, that?s a lot)

Diamonds are indestructible.
This is false. The fact that diamonds are a hard substance refers to their ability to withstand scratching, but that is different than toughness, which refers to the ability to withstand breaking or cleavage. Diamonds can chip, but only a diamond can scratch another diamond. (meaning diamonds are no match for a good steel hammer)

Diamonds are the most valuable gemstone in the world.
This seems like it should be true, but its not. Diamonds are very valuable in the world of gems, but a fine ruby is actually worth more. (a lot more, look it up)

Now those are just all silly properties we silly humans have thrust on a hapless carbon structure. In ancient times, they were even believed to be poisonous.

And now, some scary stuff:
Ten reasons
Or just do a search with the words diamond, slavery, atrocities, or a number of other bad words.

Not so pretty anymore, are they?

Ok, the forums aren\'t dieing, and the community isn\'t going to hell. No, we\'re all here, good and bad. Come on, people always come and go, it\'s a vicious circle, that we\'re fond of.

If someone leaves, it means that this \"world\" is falling apart? Oh come on ... You know, we all have our real lives as well, lives we have to live. And no one is actually leaving, because there will sure be a day, when they\'ll come check the boards at least, check how others are doing.

I\'m not in the mood to give you a full explanation here, so here you go:

The day the forums ... died

I hope you\'ll have the nerves to read it all, and I strongly suggest seeing the 3rd page.

Sometimes Draklar just is showing off why he did get the \"biggest agurer\"; \"most stubborn\" and \"best roleplayer\" awards. This time it is biggest agurer and most stubborn i guess.

*edit* forgot to add the \"best storyteller\" which he got (besides Jedi)

This community isn\'t falling apart, but I know that if it would be it would be because of the oldbies who act like morons. Not because of people like Sep...

This is a thread about Leji leaving and you (Kiern, Moogie and Draklar among others) come and say how you don\'t give a damn about people leaving. Are you really so proud about having been around long enough to become heartless?
I\'d like to say you should know better but then I remember that this is how you are and have always been.

Draklar, I can understand that seeing people leave isn\'t special to you since you have left the community 50 times yourself, but why would you want to go say \"As for leji, well, I\'ve seen many cool people leaving PS already... Am kind of used to that...\". It\'s good for you and alll but notice how this thread is called \"Leji is gone!\" and not \"Uncle Draklar does not give a crap about you leaving\".

Now to get back on topic, goodbye to all those who left PS: Leji, Sep, Faldrok, Dorbian, Newpie, Psycon, Aldarion, Sifright. It was fun to meet those of you I met ;)

Odd... some people seem to have picked up the wrong end of the stick. Direct me to where I was being so horrendously heartless and not just stating good-natured facts that this is not \'the end\' of the community? My only points were that all types of people leave, some good, some bad, but life will go on here. I never said anything about forgetting those people who left- I have leji and dorbian on my MSN and still speak to them occasionally, as friends.

I apologise to anyone who seems to think I was being mean, but I would like to know what made you think that. Take a chill pill, dudes. :)

I love urban legends... Say once that you intend to leave because rl is getting pretty busy for you and after half a year you have morons saying you left 50 times.

I guess it\'s too hard to understand that since this is thread about Leji leaving, then opinions about this event should be posted here.

Another thing is I never said I don\'t give a damn. Leji was a friend of mine, just like many others who have left this community already. I am sad to see them gone, but it happens so often that I got pretty much used to it. How can you know how I felt when Leji out of a sudden said that he\'s leaving PS? One of the very few people that I enjoyed talking on irc with. And that soon after I lost any hope to see Kada again. Only three people that I really like are still in here (Xalthar, Cad, Nilaya). I\'m not even sure who of them is going to stay (I know Nil will be pretty busy irl). But you proved to be even bigger ass than Kiern for saying I\'m heartless and don\'t give a damn.

I\'m sick of this community consisting of people who are trying to cut each other\'s throats. Everyone have to form groups in which they will attack the other ones. And that keeps on and on.

You know what? Screw this. It\'s the 51st time I\'m leaving. You may point that out the next time I come back. This time I really: Don\'t give a damn.
