Please tell me it\'s the grass-growing server! 8)

Hmm, I seriously hope it won\'t be like in MB... no rehash of the hunt... \"the evil mushroom hunt\". Also, i don\'t like the idea of mind-altering drugs. In fact, if alcohol wasn\'t so popular, it shouldn\'t be there as well IMO.

There should be mushrooms, just like flowers and other plants, but don\'t make them overly valuable. I don\'t mind them to be edible, though... but you should spawn carrots as well. In fact, the mushrooms could be much like carrots, just grow in different places, obviously.

Think carrots and potatos and all that thingys are going to be \"mined\". Like /dig carrot

I don\'t know whats the problem of \"hunting mushrooms\". And also there could be seasons for the mushrooms. And in the \"mushroom\" season there could be an event \"hunt for the mushrroms\" :) Think it would be kinda cool :)
Remember the hunting games organized by Zan? Instead of rat eyes and all those stuff it would be mushrooms.

Yeah I made a few spawn points for them. They will spawn in more places soon, but atm you can find them in one or two spots between hydlaa and ojaveda.

Great job, I \'ve found one area where they grow so far.

I hope they \'ll be spawning randomly in the future though. It would be more fun to gather them that way instead of knowing exactly where they \'ll be.

And another question .. do they serve any purpose yet and can we sell them? Don\'t have to answer with specifics, I \'d just like to know if they can be used or sold to NPC\'s.

Well I think that in due time there should be a lot more than mushrooms growing and that there would be a lot of herbs scattered around that could be only picked up or identified depending on the level of Herbal skill the character has :D like some herbs everyone could identify... but others it would need at least a bit of herbal skill while others would need LOTS of herbal skill! And of course the main purpose of having several kinds of herbs would be to make several kinds of potions... and that\'s where the Alchemy skill would come in! :D

I see alot of potential in these mushrooms- not only could a player get starting funds by collecting what is out there already, but if there was a simple quest that give them even more funds for finding some.... Then they could get some training and maybe make a minor healing potion just out of simple mushrooms. Then rare mushrooms would come in for more complex potions, as well as other random items, like tefu teeth, rat eyes, etc. Maybe even a little bit of some ore? The sky is the limit!

i dont think the mushrooms should spawn randomly over the map, because it is in a mushrooms nature to grow in one place though the mushroom over the surface is only the fruit of the rizom. flowers and such plants which reproduce themselves in other ways than mushrooms (with seeds) could spawn randomized over the map.
everyone who is gathering mushrooms by himself knows that there are special places where different kinds of mushrooms grow and nowhere else in the region.
and mushrooms prefer a dark and wet place to grow ... so dungeons and wet caverns should be the right places.
that mushrooms have medical effects (pos and neg) is proven and so i think it should be implemented in the game.
seeing some more stuff to gather and to explore around is great .. keep on coding :P

You \'re right that completely random wouldn\'t be very realistic but that they spawn at the exact same spot after the exact same amount of time isn\'t very realistic either. So a middle way would work best.

Mushrooms spawn randomly in spots they would normally thrive in, like the shadowy spots under trees for example. But they shouldn\'t always spawn in the same spot and same timeframe. Say you have 3 trees and one mushroom. The mushroom is under the first tree first and when it respawns it moves to the 3rd tree .. then after a long while back to the first. And after a short time to the second.

Simple example of some more random spawning but still in realistic areas. We can\'t have mushrooms growing the the middle of hydlaa plaza no :P

You\'re missing the whole point:
The question is, do we have to cut the mushroom before picking it, or pick up all the mushroom?
Are there any MoonSeekers left?

always cutting .. no picking cause it hurts the rhizom.
