Unable to get practise points with light armor

I have trained the light armor skill, the bar is all green
i start attacking monsters like rats or clackers with hands (not to kill them) and then i stop attacking. The rat keeps hurting me, i can even die, but i never never never get any practise points and thats quite annoying.
When i look at the system part, i see the rat hurts me, i see  sometimes it misses me, but i never dodge. I tried to attack nearly every kind of monster i\'ve seen in the game, and i cant get practise points, can someone help me??

Armor as items are already available in the game but it isn\'t functional in any way yet. The only thing it does is take up carrying weight. It doesn\'t show on your character and doesn\'t protect your character. Hopefully it will soon though.

But as long as it doesn\'t you won\'t be able to train it obviously. Just have patience

To train light armor, you have to fight with full defence stance. Unfortunatly from this what i\'ve heard, you cant, because of bug.
So no training light armor. You can\'t get practice points !
Even if current armor isnt effective, the skill gives quite good defence, even if you dont wear any kind of armor.

Yes, I click on the monster and then on full defence stance the screen says I am in normal stance and nothing goes up in my armor rating and so it seems the armor may be useless.   I wonder if I can sell all armor and not have the extra weight slowing me down and use it to raise my agility or strength.
   It seemed to me that in 3.009 light armor did reduce the effect of monster attacks on me.   At first rats took a big toll on me but after I put on light armor I could stand in a group of 3 or 4 rats attacking and they would have no effect.    And gobbies had no effect either when I got to light armor rating of 7 or 8.   But I can nto get pass 0 in 3.010.

The light armor skill, no matter what you have, lowers the damge you take and increases the chance you will  blocks hits. Apparently skin counts as a light armor.
Leather armor does indeed do more of both- I did some experemnts when it was first added, and I went from consistatly suffering 60% damage from one foe to around 20%, just by equipting armor.
As for getting practice, I am not sure what is going wrong- before the update I told people to just fight each other, but that no longer works. It seems being hit, no matter the damage is what trains you.

Find a rat or clacker, or something else weak, and just let it hit you.  It doesn\'t have to do damage, in fact I think you get points for stopping the damage via the armor skill.

As far as I know, if you can\'t get it to work, it\'s a bug.  You can sometimes fix this by attempting to purchase more points.  It won\'t let you (if you\'ve actually bought the full green bar), but it may clear up the glitch.

I\'ve actually found that I only get practice poitns for my armour if I dodge the attack, which I strangely manage to do a lot when I DON\'T need them, and not so often when I DO.

I just kill a couple of rogues in the sewers, usually...
