Well, art package is large because of art quality, you know - better quality,
larger files. Can\'t you ask a friend on a better connection to download it for you
and put on a CD, or maybe you could download it in some library or something,
they usually has got good connections there. ;)

Regards.

Oooh! I used to have that.. .It never made much of a difference, considering my computer was an eight year old windows 95 at the time...

It\'s not unusual that games are this big, the difference is that for most other games this big, you buy them in a store, and get them on a stack of CDs, or even a DVD.

Downloading Planeshift over a 56k modem does seem rather hopeless, and if you choose to do so anyway, you will want a program that can continue where it stopped the last time, instead of starting over.

I actually had no trouble getting it over a 56k connection, but I built it from CVS so all I was getting was source code and not binaries.  Also, I was able to let it run over night, which helped.  I can see how a five hour limit would hinder that.  (also i cheated on my art and went to a local cafe with free broadband.  That was about eight months ago and since then there is rarely more than a few MB.  Once it was 50, but again I just let it go overnight).
Yliakum, a really big crystal. These are the voyages of the Explorers Guild.  Its ongoing mission: to explore strange new maps, to seek out new life and new NPCs.  To boldly glitch where no one has glitched before.
