planeship crashes while i create a new character

When i try to create a new Character planeshift crashes while i try to select a race with the following consoleoutput:

Received the critical strings, so far so good

i have compared the md5 of the Installation-File with a friend (please write down md5 of linux-download at download-page) and habe tried to reinstall, even as root, but it doesnt help

i have tryed to start with out sound, too.

Can you try to disable sound? Even if it sounds strange that it happens when you are creating a new character.

I think the forum is located in USA, but I don\'t want to be wrong so I eat it back

oh, sorry I didn\'t read carefully enough.

There are a list of known crashes, but usually the ones connected to the first screens are sound related.

Anyway, I am not a super linux expert, so I cannot speak for particular issues connected to that. Maybe there is something in the Linux forum.
