Totally wrong character models

Hi there, I just found out of PlaneShift today, so I\'m kinda new... ^_^ But the multiple reasons for me posting this is as following: I\'m trying to make a character for myself, but there\'s something messy about the models when you choose different races. I\'m trying to make a Dermorian elf, and it clearly states that there isn\'t a model for females yet. No problem, I\'m trying to make a male anyway. But when I change the gender, it works, but the model is clearly not an elf. It looks like a demon (Diabolo ?) instead with little horns on forehead and everything. Same thing with some others, too. And even if the model is correct, it seems that clicking the change hair style etc. doesn\'t do anything. And then it makes some weird sound after a while and screen turns black. Only way to get out is ctrl+alt+del. Basically I can\'t do anything. It\'s strange. Any way to fix it or other help?

Well, the features like hair and whatnot don\'t work yet, either.  So that\'s normal.  The other things are bugs I havent heard of...

Hi Evonis and welcome.

If you want to make a female Dermorian at the moment there is not a valid model for this and what you get is what it has been available in order to let players choose the raice, a Ynnwn model, much similar to a demon.
It happens for all the races that don\'t have a proper model.
Some are anyway available, but it is specified in the little description that the right model is not available at the moment.

As DaveG said it is not yet possible to change the traits of your character - at least, not in all cases, from what I know, but I haven\'t checked which one can.

About the black screen, I am afraid the client crashes for some reason while playing around with some areas of the screen. Maybe you can describe exactly which are the steps you do before getting the black screen.

The model issue is not that important, it\'s just a little weird. I guess I\'ll make a human for now and another character later when there are models. But actually I don\'t do anything before the screen turns black. Although on the first times it showed some kind of warning like \"Something unexcpected happened in psclient. [insert some strange hexadecimal codes here]\" But now that doesn\'t come anymore. I\'d just like to know what makes that problem since I can\'t do basically anything now.

Uhm, it doesn\'t seem like one of the known errors connected to the sound, but try to disable sound just for the sake of trying. You never know.

Nah, didn\'t help. Actually the error came quicker this time than before. Annoying. I can\'t even make a character.

Just another stupid hint, have you updated with the updater?

Of course! First I tried without it, but since the server was down that time, I decided to run it. So the files should be current ones etc.

well, if you already have all files up to date; then I guess you should report that problem that doesn\'t even let you make your char.

To do that, erase psclient.txt from planeshift folder.
Then proceed normally and make the game crash, when that message pops out, select yes to save the dump file.
Once done go to http://command.no-ip.com/dmp/ and upload the dump file and psclient.txt that would have been generated. In the comment space you could add a link to this post or explain where exactly this happens to you, because, i\'m afraid, this isn\'t a common message error.

OK, I did that now. Hopefully it\'s able to be fixed. :/
