Problem when loading world.
« on: July 25, 2005, 08:07:08 pm »
Hi. I downloaded Planeshift (duh!) and installed it. All was eemingly well, until I played it. I made my character and went to go into the world. After NEARLY loading, this error message came up:

\"Something unexpected happened in PlaneShift: Crystal Blue Exception at address: 7C00724A, Exception code: C0000005

Would you like to save a diagnostic file?\"

I clicked yes and then the program shut itself down. It does this everytime. Unfortunately, I don\'t have any more info. Can anyone help me? It\'s greatly appreciated.

I know I sound like a complete n00b, but how do you disable the sound?

EDIT: It\'s OK, I\'ve disabled sound. Gonna try now.

Yay! It works now. Thanks! So, is there no way of getting the sound on without crashing the program?

At the moment, it appears that this is a negative. But the issue is definitely known, and the next update is bound to have a fix. (No need to ask when that\'ll be - sooner than later.)

Do You currently use Windows system ? If yes, there is a way. Put Windows to trash, install any recent Linux distribution (Mandriva for example) (oh, well, you can keep Windows on one partition), then download and install Planeshift client for Linux. I have not  any problems with sound. Ok, there is one. Sometimes I have to turn off the music, because of that annoying combat theme :P.
