updater ... again
« on: September 18, 2005, 07:12:29 pm »
been trying to update for two days strait and it keeps getting hung at the same point.
pssetup.exe stops at 27%
and 66% total
it has stopped here three times and doesn\'t seem to want to go further, any suggestions?

Try the recover mode, in mine case it stops in a different and later point then, so perhaps you are lucky.

Sounds like a better idea than doing the same all the time, I?ll try that next time it stops.

Just cancel the update reinstall game and don\'t update it again.

Edit: ok great i walked around for 5 minuts and my charecter won\'t listen.
He keeps running at one spot not moving.
Starting to hate the game already :)

Alright, even without knowing much about computers (which is in general a bad idea when participating in a beta test of a pre alpha tech demo = severely unfinished, highly buggy, mostly changing, very techy program) the fact that there is a severe but as of yet unexplained performance problem with the server should have gotten through...

Anyway, not updating is the best solution for new installs until the performance issue is resolved. The crashes are mostly sound related, so turn that off in the setup program.
Secondly, some remaining crashes will still occur. Your character is stuck, and because you run the unupdated version, the (partial) fixes aren\'t available to you (they are in the update).
Thus, you need to use the \"/unstick\" command to unstick the character, which will happen frequently with this version.

Remember that this is nowhere near a full game.

It maybe in that way but the updater should be working.

This is really getting annoying.
