Still errors, just different ones
« on: October 24, 2005, 04:04:46 am »
Well, the recovery mode update got me through the character generation process, and I pushed upload. I don\'t know if it worked though: a game screen came up, and looked like it was loading, but two things happened. The first, was that my system started running low on memory, which seemed to indicate some sort of memory leak (there wasn\'t much else running). Secondly, I got another memory access violation, and it crashed.

Greetings,

The server is up and running. There are currently 28 players on. What are you doing to try to log in? Have you updated the client? Do any messages come up when you try to load the world?

*edit* The server also \"crashes\" or is pulled down every now and then, but should be back up shortly afterwards. Check the link I posted to see when it is ready. Particularly pay attention to the report time and the current time - if they match or are within some seconds of each other, the server is available.

How can that be. I mean it took me forever to download the game-engine to update create a character run 2 updates after having waited more then a day for the server to be up, and it still says server failed 100%.

Do you have a firewall or a router? If so, you have to open UDP port 7777 (for server \"Laanx\"). It used to be 7354, but seems to have changed with the update.

Some part of the Dermorian model, then. Try to locate that file (I presume it\'ll be within C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue\\art\\models.zip) and delete it, then try to run the updater again, best in recover mode. Start -> Programs -> PlaneShift Crystal Blue -> PlaneShift Updater (recover mode).

Are you sure it\'s stuck? How long have you left it for? Give it at least half an hour, just to be safe, and if the updater doesn\'t progress further, we\'ll think of something else :)

Try not to double-post :) Just edit your previous post to add new information if no one has replied in between.

I wouldn\'t recommend trying to open PlaneShift before the updater fully finishes downloading all the files, but this appears to be a problem similar to something stickied here. There is a file you have to download and place in your main PlaneShift directory, replacing your old one. Give this a try.

I got the same error and I needed to fully update my game. If you have accidentally followed Karyuu advice and your updater will not start then here is the one you should replace the one that you shouldn?t have replaced in the first place. I must stress this, do not download the thing that Karyuu told you to. Yet if you have here is a link to the file that you had before you followed Karyuus misguided advice.

(Here is the link to the 128kb one)
