updater help!!

i know this is something everyone moans about but ive tried everything already mentioned in the forums and nothing works.  

ive just downloaded and installed the latest version of the game and was immediatly taken to the updater screen.  the updater however has yet to go faster then 3kb/s.  i have changed the config xml file tho the line of code specified (although my original file wasnt the same as the example given?)

i am using the windows firewall and am behind a router but as far as i know i have opened the ports specified to run the game.  

also i cannot ping the fragnetics server from within the updater.  is the server down at the moment? could this be causing my slow dl rate?

if this is not the case any help u could give me would be much appretiated as im desperate to start playing the game.

Everyones getting the same problem, its just a slow updater (I left my updater on overnight, and it still isn\'t done...So you\'ll be waiting a while)

mine worked fine.. it didnt make it over 130 kb/s but none of this 2 kb/s stuff.

I updated two different computers after the 0.3.12 upgrade, and they both completed in 10 minutes or less.

Granted, I already had whatever updates were already released from the original download, but I can\'t see where that would make that much of a difference here.

Is there perhaps some other problem here than a \"slow updater\"?

I was getting 130k/s downloads and now all of a sudden, it starts at 1, slowly goes up to 2, then three. Seems kind of weird, thought it was just my problem, but since someone else mentioned it, could be a coincidence though.

Ok, I uninstalled, reinstalled \"PlaneShift_CBV0.3.011.exe\"

Updater downloads the new updater (1.0.2.7), at 140k/s, and then begins downloading registry at 1 k/s. must be a problem with the new updater

Which is a important in \"tech help before\" and it tells about changing the main download server to the new server \"http://psmirror.u24.solone.net/psupdater/\"

With the new updater (1.0.2.7) this is the main updater and the old \"http://laanx.fragnetics.com/updater_hidden/\" is the backup server

I simply went into my \"updaterconfig.xml\" in Planeshift installed folder and switched them around.

Now the first download choice is Lannx and that?s the server which gives me the best download speed. It may depend on were you live for what\'s the best server for you. Zell Signing off
