okay so I went and did the non-newb thing to do and looked up how to change my portal, so I did I went and changed it to allow exceptions for 7777 and the other portal I cant recall right now..

So excitedly I opened the game, but to my dismay nothing happened, I hate to be a annoying newbie but I really would really enjoy to play the game thanks

Could you describe the nothing that happened with a little more detail? The game doesn\'t open or run at all, or there were further problems like the server showing \"Fail,\" etc.?

Also, although this can be a little weird and perhaps could concern you about privacy and security, you could also attach some screenshots showing how you configured your firewall, I mean the screen that specifies the allowed connection of planeshift, with the port detail and so on. You\'ve to keep in mind that there are lots of software firewalls around, and it\'s hard to tell how to configure the software, so I guess the best option is to try to use them in an \"assistent\" mode and if the server is still unreachable (and hasn\'t crashed) then I guess an screen with how the configuration is can help to discard the origin of the problem.
