Experience and Points Bug?
« on: November 04, 2005, 06:03:21 pm »
HI, I just downloaded the game yesterday and started playing. I have already gotten answers to a couple questions by reading the forums (\"darkness bug\") but still have one problem to present to you.

Once I made my way out of the starting city, I was experiencing the darkness bug and could not see anything, so could not travel. The only thing I could see was a six legged bug off to the left of the door.

I approached it and attacked, and killed it. In the chat box it said I had gotten 400 Experience and 2 Points.

However, in the STATS for my character, those did not change. It still showed me at 0% XP, and 0 points.

To test, I killed the bug 2 more times, and the same thing happened.

When I get home from work today, I will run the updater again (It ran 4 times after downloading the game, I ran it till it said everything was updated) just in case, but I was wondering if this is a known problem, and if I should just RP for now.

Thanks

Nilrem

Yes, it\'s a known problem, the ep and pp points are assigned correctly,so you won\'t loose them, but the screen doesn\'t refreshes the changes.
So don\'t worry, because this will be fixed in the next update.
As for the ojaroad being dark, it\'s also another known bug, that can be solved if you do this:
Select the planeshift exe link, right click on it, click properties.
Find where it says (...) psclient.exe\" and change it for (...)psclient.exe\" -fullbright
Please notice the space between the \" and -
Good luck
Are there any MoonSeekers left?

Thank you, very much. I had read about the darkness issue, but missed that fix. Even if I am not fighing, it will be fun to explore.

I will get my chance, cuz I died falling off a hill just before I logged, and could not see a thing in the Death Realm. With this fix I should be able to see my way out, and then get to see the world from the \"ground up\" so to speak.

Again, thanks for the tip.

Let\'s say a monster gives you 100% experience points, or a round multiple of it (200,300,400...%). I bet you kill it a thousand times in a row, and still you\'ll see your exp at 0%. Isnt\' it logical?

However, Progression Points (PP) should change! ;)
