Is the Download supposed to take this long?

Well i\'m trying to download Planeshift using BitTorrent as I speak and it says: \"1.6% done, 16:04 hours remaining. Is the download supposed to be this long? I also tried the other mirrors and they were about 2 hours. My connection is Broadband/dsl

The rate at which you download from BitTorrent depends on how many people are \"seeding\" the download, the reason its going slowly because very few people are seeding it. The only solution is to wait or to download from the other mirrors that are direct downloads rather than BitTorrent.

BitTorrent is the way to go if you want to help the Dev\'s save bandwidth. My advice is to stay off it until there are at least 5-6 +sources at a constant rate that equals to at least 30-40kbps.(modems obviously would struggle to get past that speed)

If you\'re in a rush though then just use the normal links and use FlashGet or some other internet speeder upper

on topic: big game = big download time. so yes. it is. it took me a few hours on a cable modem at 100kbs when i first got it.

patience is a virtue. it\'s also a noun and a synonym for longanimity.

I wouldn\'t suggest it if it didn\'t work. Though the better your internet connection the less impact it has on increasing your speeds.
