Indirect rendering may indicate a flawed OpenGL setup if you run on a local
  X server.

Have you activate the direct rendering ?
you may have in your xorg.conf a section \"device\" for your video card. In this section search for a line like that :
RenderAccel    \"True\"

For example, here is my card configuration :

Section \"Device\"
Identifier  \"Card0\"
Driver      \"nvidia\"
VendorName  \"nVidia Corporation\"
Option      \"AllowGLXWithComposite\" \"true\"
BoardName   \"NV34 [GeForce FX 5200]\"
BusID       \"PCI:2:0:0\"
Option      \"RenderAccel\" \"true\"
EndSection
Slackware: because it works !
slack-get: because it rocks !

I used to get that same error, even though once I was in planeshift it worked fine... I don\'t know how descriptive that error really is.
