Well, yeah... Wear... See, like here:

:P

Of course chainmail isn\'t all. Alone it is pretty light. The problem comes when I put on additional protection under it ;)

What else should be explained? :P

Uuuuhm....

The \"WHY\" maybe?  :) You know, as in : \"Just for fun\", or \"to scare people\" or \"just because\" or \"to kill\" or any other reason :D

Looks pretty cool...I might as well be jealous :D

For now it\'s just for fun. It would change if I were trained enough so that I could go for tournaments and battles with my knighthood. But before that happens I might just move to USA, bleh :P

Ah so you\'ve been looking for sword-classes too then? :D None here in Belgium, probably none at your place too...

Must be cool, knowing perfectly how to handle a sword, being able to do tournaments...Making money and fame with something as awesome as that :D

There are four knighthoods in my city alone :P
I belong to the best (most rigorous) of those. The official members of it were nicked \"The Mazurian Butchers\" in one knightly magazine =P

This summer they took first two places in a tournament they organised. The final duel, with the background music was pure <3

Man, you\'re making me REALLY jealous right now o.O

Soooo...You ARE training. Whilst I\'m sitting here unable to find anything in the vicinity. I\'m jealous.
I would love to see some tournaments too, but over here they\'re just not doing them. And you know, I can imagine seeing a duel between a couple of good trained persons gives -->Shivers down your spine :D

/me jealous.

Tournaments aren\'t the coolest thing around here ;]

Since you like viking metal, check this. A videoclip made by T?r with scenes from the Jomsborg Viking Festival held in Poland.
It\'s not our biggest battle event though. That one would be the Grunwald Battle (which although taking place very close to my city, can be a pain to get to, as it\'s really, really popular)

And then there\'s Malbork Siege:

...But yeah ^^

As to bad ebay experiences, keep all emails, analyze all descriptions carefully, and never buy quickly.  One guy did a chargeback on me(Unjustly, I might add), so I sent in his emails, proving that he should have known what he was doing(He bought on impulse without considering his purchase carefully).  His own Credit Card compnay ruled against him(as I said unjustly).

Now I have to add my envy to Izzy\'s.  There is nothing like that in Kentucky(We rednecks just shoot at each other  :D  ).  So now I must see if there are tournament rules somewhere, so I can try to organize something like that here.  Thanks for the inspire!

Depending on the type of steel used, the density of steel ranges from 7500-8000 kg/m3 (roughly).

9kg of steel would be approximately 0.00116 m3 of volume.  To put that in perspective, it would be a 10.5 cm cube of solid steel, so its pretty big.

Valbrandr: Most books I have read have either said overly heavy weights or been very vague on weight, and one went so far as to say that training swords weighed 60 pounds so they could swing a real sword faster! eep!

Draklar: I wish I could be there! I have always wanted to be a prt of something like that, or even jsut bash around with friends, but 3 reasons stop that: 1. there is nothing like that in my area, 2. my friends aren\'t into bashing each other with sticks and mock swords (well, a few were, but I moved :( ) 3. my age makes it impossible for me to join certain places that do have such things, as I ca\'nt sign waivers and such, and 18 is usually the min age for joining.

In my knighthood people who are below 18 just need to bring a note from their parents showing that they are allowed to participate.
