Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

And thats how you rate movies...?

No, definitely not.  I don\'t care about blood and gore... but when the movie has a supposed focus on a \"great battle\", then I come to expect  it.  Besides that point, I found this movie very childish and think it was made primarily for kids.  I am far from a child (in my early 30\'s), so I guess maybe I shouldn\'t even be reviewing it.  Actually, maybe I\'m too old to even be playing PS!  ha ha, oh well... maybe there are some other \"old\" people here to?  Didn\'t I read somewhere that the average  PS player age was 16 or something?  Don\'t want to diss you younglings or sound superior... just saying that the movie was not for me.

I think I really need to read all the books. Too bad my sister has them in Finnish. I\'m so used to reading books in English it feels strange to read them in Finnish. :D And the original is always better than the translation, of course.

I still think though that the middle bits probably work pretty well as movies. A series of 5 or so movies might be a bit too much.

Er.. looks like you guys all liked it. So I\'m going to quietly add my wiews on why that movie sucked in my opinion (I haven\'t read the book, so please keep that in mind while reading):

1) I think it was one big hell of a Lord of the Rings clone (sorry, if it was written before LOTR, in that case please discard this one). The whole story of the weak and innocent rising to power and glory, while defeating the evil has been a commonplace for centuries. Adding this to a fantasy atmosphere,  and a detailed world was the primary reason of success for LOTR in my opinion. What has Narnia added to it?
Nothing. The world is nowhere as detailed, living and believable as Tolkien\'s. But it tries to be. While watching the movie, I never felt myself sucked in by it.

2) The heroes were just so fake to me. The big brother was the only character IMHO who looked credible. (Oh, and the part that really made me throw my brains away was the one, when Santa showed up, and brought weapons to all of them. Don\'t you think that one was ridiculous?)

3) The movie was a Hollywood superproduction, and thus too much action oriented (as pointed out by others). I would have liked to know more about Narnia, its secrets, its magic, and its people. That might just have saved the movie for me.

I really didn\'t like it much, it felt entirely like a \"Hey, the LOTR made a lot of box-office money!  I bet if we make movies out of some other books we might be able to get in on this before it fades away.\"
Graphically: 5/5, though.  CG is good!
Otherwise, I just didn\'t enjoy it.  My relatives got a kick out of it though.
Then again, I don\'t take life too seriously but I can only enjoy serious entertainment, and I guess this didn\'t feel serious enough.

If you\'re a kid, go see it, you\'ll like it.
