Eee... PlaneShift doesn\'t have \"levels\" - you train various skills of your choosing. There are also no classes - the Paths in the character creation process are just an easy way to \"align\" stats for a general character type.

Please take a look through some FAQs stickied in the forums, read the Player Guide (included in your download and found on the main website), and just look around.

Remember that Planeshift is at version 0.3 and is in Alpha development. And I mean heavy development. Things are changing, breaking, fixing, and being added, almost every day. There are lots of bugs, and the system is largely unbalanced as of yet. Everyone who wants to try this game should know this - you\'re becoming a tester, not a player of a fully-developed commercial game produced by a million-dollar company ;) PlaneShift is however fully and permanently open source and free, run by a constantly evolving and quite small team of volunteers with a budget of zero. 0.3 means we still have 7 versions to go before the game is considered somewhat \'Beta\' or even possibly complete, though development will never truly cease. And there are no dates ? this is a hobby project.

PlaneShift is also a true roleplaying game - meaning that you are supposed to act as your character, and not as the player sitting behind the computer. All out-of-character text generally goes into parentheses or brackets: (), {}, []. So find other characters to interact with, don\'t be afraid to ask them for help with anything, and have fun :)
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Like I said, there are no classes in the game ;) You could have gone through character creation manually instead of clicking on \"Paths.\" Experiment with the creation process sometime.

hmm well it\'s odd that it made me choose a class and such but then i tried making that other type of dwarf i think it was a stonebreaker or something like that anyways it made me go full background odd how the hammerwielder was this way i think that might be just a huge glitch or something or maybe it was a unuseual action i dont know much about this game so my gess would be that need a good fixen ^_^ oh well not my place to say what should be done lol

*edit*

oh btw i once did a trial on Everquest and this and Everquest almost seem identical only with a few things like that selecting NPC and the character info at top right they almost seem the same but ya thats probly just my imagination... anyways like i said before this looks like a promising game

Please avoid posting two or more successive posts before others have replied. Just edit your last post to add new information :) Thanks! --Karyuu

Nah i understand where this guy is coming from. If you click quick creation (forgot what it called) you get 6 options. Knight is one of them. I guess his just confused over his char creation that really has little effect at the moment.

umm as far as i know for the hammerweilder there was nothing to choose other then name and the hair colour, then it went stright to the 6 class thing but for stonebreaker it was pure my choice for background rather then what hammerweilder did... confused is a word that isnt even close to describ me right now....

The character creation process defines your basic stats, is does not limit you on what you can become.  I understand your confusion, PS has an unusual way to \"level\" your character.  Currently, it is easy to boost your stats in game so the starting numbers do not mean much.

To put it another way, your \"knight\" character can wear any armor and can learn any spell or weapon skill he/she chooses.  Your stats will just effect nature of what you can do.
