I got a Suggestion
« on: December 10, 2002, 02:09:58 am »
I Think when they expand on PlaneShift(when they get more than 1 city) There should be a city with no buildings where people can buy there own shops and set prices for things they wanna sell. I know i\'d want to make my own shop  :))

i think it\'d be cool for say a guild, if they had enought money, to build their own city. they could make their own castle and build a huge wall around it and the members could build their houses inside of it

thats great, there would be a court and you sew for a certain amount of money, maybe your guild won\'t go broke after that.(also, the more fatening foods you eat in planeshift should over the days make your guy slightly fatter depending how much fat foods he eats, i would eat everything and see how fat i get and walk around the street laughing)

All of these ideas have been discussed and before you talk about it, you need to think about the work involved, are you just going to sit in a building all day long selling stuff, where would you buy it from, people would just abandone shops after a while.

you could hire a npc to run the shop, and have a certain bank account where you could put items into your shop and list what you would sell them for, and they\'d be automaticly be put into your shop

Search for a similar topic, it has been discussed. There is a never ending list of things you would have to do, and hiring NPCs.. I think we are wishing for none feasible things here. There would also have to be a store that you could buy bulk in, you couldn\'t just go to any shop, buy a axe, then sell it for cheaper at your store, you would lose money, You would have to buy 100 axes bulk then sell each one for a certain price slightly lower then your compeition, and if everyone has a store, no one is going to go to your store and prices will fall. There will also be a ton of abandoned stores, no one is going to just sit in a shop and not do anything else.

Yes, you\'re right Link. If people have to buy items, and then re-sell them, it simply won\'t make sense. These shops are only valuable for people that gather the materials, by mining, lumber jacking, or whatever, and then make the items themself, for no cost, just time. People that can craft high quality items will be in demand, and thus, those shops will get good business.

it would be to difficult to run on your own, and even with an npc you would have to supply him frequently

people would just get bored and quit

Link, there is no echoes when your writing a message, also i don\'t see the problem if your talking about something similar that has already been discussed. If you go back to the old forum thats the same, its most likely no1 will reply to an old topic.
