AAAK! Died! Then walked around a bit...
« on: January 16, 2006, 01:48:32 am »
My character suddenly fell down. I was going down stairs and he just fell on his behind and it said \'you fell down and died\'. What happened? And afterwards, why could he walk around for a minute before entering the Death Realm? If this has been asked before I am sorry, and shall go pound my head into the desk.

Upon death, your character model is frozen for about 20 seconds or so before being teleported to the DR. This is standard. Also, sometimes running down some stairs (particularly in the temple and dungeon) invokes the power of Fall Damage - so better be careful and walk, just in case.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Frozen? I wasn\'t frozen, I was \"walking around\".

Actually Karyuu, thats not the case.  As it is right now, if I fall and die, it plays the death animation and the character doesn\'t move if the key is still being pressed down.  After the death animation is over, a simple release/press of a movement key, the character moves around normal like it never happened, showing the run/walk animation.  It seems there is a bit of time between the end of the death animation and the time that the character actually gets moved to the DR.  During this time, a player can move around just fine and then they get \"magically transported\" to the DR.

You should be frozen, but since Blue messed up the movement code, you\'re not. But you should be. :P
