Forgive me if I sound patronising, but did you run the updater?

You just need to run the updater.

It\'s junk like this, and valid confusion, that we should be changing the way we handle netversions from now on.  We have the official version (0.3.012), though we really go by whatever date it was built, and we have the netversion (47).  The netversion is bumped whenever the network code is changed enough to break compatibility.  (we also bump it on any other loss of compatibility, to prevent errors)  That number is checked on connect, and is the \"version\" it complains about being out of date with.  We\'ve had 3 or so \"minor\" releases within the 0.3.012 version, the last of which included a netversion bump.  I completely understand how this could be confusing.  I\'m thinking we can do something like 0.3.012.3 to avoid confusions in the future.  (I saw 0.3.012 r3 used around here somewhere, too)

Please turn off your caps-lock key. When used on the internet, it appears as \"shouting\" and is very rude. We\'re not blind, we can read regularly sized letters just as well ;)

Are you running a firewall or router?

Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

There is a sticky here called UPDATER ISSUES which you should read.  (quite intentionally in caps ;) )  The updater doesn\'t have a connection to the Internet.  Read the sticky, and my guess is you don\'t have it set up to use your proxy/firewall/whatever.

It\'s quite simple really.  If you\'re connecting through something, you need to allow PlaneShift to connect through it as well.  :)

UDP port 7777 must be enabled for the PlaneShift server, Laanx. If you\'re unsure how to do that, refer to your firewall guide/manual :]

Hum. I\'m totally new to this game, and it seems great. The only problem is that I haven\'t been able to start playing yet due to the updater not working correctly. I\'ve searched the forum for simular problems, and found this and 2 older threads, which is why I\'m asking here, cuz it is totally the same problem as I have. This is the error I get when running the updater with the auto attribute:

C:\\Program\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue>updater.exe -auto
Critical files () not found (Server only)
NOTIFY: psUpdaterEngine initialized.
Downloading registry...
Server error: Couldn\'t connect to mirror (0)
Couldn\'t connect to mirror mir4!
Trying mirror mir1..
Server error: Couldn\'t connect to mirror (0)
Trying mirror mir2..
Server error: Couldn\'t connect to mirror (0)
Trying mirror mir3..
Server error: Couldn\'t connect to mirror (0)
Trying mirror backp..
Server error: Couldn\'t connect to mirror (0)
CRITICAL ERROR: Ran out of mirrors! Game cannot be updated.
Exiting Planeshift.  Press Enter...

Now, I\'ve red the updater issued thread, but it didn\'t help very much. I tryed verifying the mirror URLs, and they seem up to date. I\'ve tryed activating a proxy, with my router\'s ip as host, and I\'ve tryed a few ports, including 8080, but without success.

Now, my F-secure Internet secutiry is de-activated 100% and should allow all traffic, also, I have set up a DMZ to this computer, and none of these actions have had any effect.

I\'ve also tryed browsing the http://www.psmirror.org/psupdater/, and it seems to be pretty slow/unstable, since I\'ve only been able to get a response from it like once each 20 tryes, which seems to be the same for some of the other mirrors as well.

I\'m using (At least I think) the newest public release of the client, 0.3.012?

Now, I really need help with this. If anyone has any idea on what may be the problem, please tell me.

Thanks in advance.

But have you tried the correct port, UDP 7777? :>

He still needs to get the updater running, to get the latest version.  Updater doesn\'t need UDP 7777, just HTTP.

You need to successfully run the updater, that\'s the only thing that will help.  I can connect to them just fine, so the problem is on your end.
