SNAPSHOTS please
« on: January 23, 2006, 04:11:42 am »
Please make some snapshots of the source code. In not possible to install in linux because the annon cvs of SF allways are busy.

And made snapshots is the usely way to give the code and can benefit of the multiple servers of SF instead of using one only server of CVS (because CVS are only one server! no mirrors. a lot of saturations)

please it is not the way because I\'m waiting 4hours to download the code and I can\'t done it yet.

I know how you feel...  I have to click update 100 times in a row to get latest CS.  :/  Snapshots might be a good idea, if there\'s someone willing to host/maintain them.

I think that SF can host it and if are standalone files can use the adventage of a lot of mirrors arround the world instead of single one as CVS.

SF makes nightly snapshots of whole CVS repository automatically (read -> this fragment of docs ). You can download it (106 MiB :/ , download manager is a must) from -> this link, unpack and then checkout current sources from local copy of repository. 106 MiB is rather big file, but it takes much less then 4 hours to download it (if You have good internet connection).
Not the best solution, but ... a solution.

EDIT: Argh... I thought You mean only PS sources... CS is too big, I\'m afraid, to download it this way.

I had no idea SF did that, thanks.

If someone zipped up only the source, and not all the extra stuff, it wouldn\'t be as bad.
