Lost weapons in server crash.
« on: January 31, 2006, 10:50:03 am »
This morning the server did crash (again) and I lost my weapons.
Happen to a lot of people, ok did call for help.

The answer I did recive was \" that some peoples waepons was taken because some weapons was spawn\"?   I dont belive this....

Had 2* regular Claymores /64 that I did get from gladiator/auction

Should be very nice if someone could explain this to me.

I pretty shure that Im not gone get them back, but then I could at least explain for other people in the game.

Several bad items where removed from the game. That includes weapons that were too powerful due to a bug in the generation of loot.

Thanks for your replye Jorrit.

But I still dont get it, there was only 40 to 60 players online.
What about rest the rest of the weapons? Must be many many more left.

And does this mean that for a exampel the claymore /64 is out of the game?

The people online doesn\'t matter. The items have been removed from ALL players (online or not).

I don\'t know specifically which weapons have been removed.

ALso the players that were offline will get those weapons deleted.

When we do an item/char/whatever \"wipe\" (or in this case, partial wipe) we (or better Talad) operate on the database.

If the claymore you are talking about was generated due to a bug, then it has been removed too.

I don\'t know which weapons were planed to be deleted. But it looks like only claymores been deleted.
Also I don\'t know by which filter weapons were deleted, but if you really want to delete overpowered weapons, then look at the slash/speed ratio and delete the rest.
All other fire/frosty/dark weapons like longswords, short swords, broad swords and daggers wasn\'t deleted and i think they should.

I hope my dreams will come true, finally ;)

Not all \"strange\" weapons might have been wiped.

Now, I don\'t know exactly the parameters using for this partial wipe, but I know just a specific set of items were gonna to be deleted.
Probably some weapons belonged to this category, others that look still strange didn\'t but belong to another bugged category.

They are. The removal if permanent. They were removed because they were wrongly generated (i.e. bug).

That is why they were removed ;) THey were not supposed to be that powerful.

Reversing the \"wipe\" will not happen.

so if they were a \"bug\" and needed to be removed what do we do about the lost trias?
