Will Not Start
« on: February 22, 2006, 04:04:14 am »
I have done the update for the instructions, this time it actually worked. I have entered in all the typing in the terminal. So, I go and double-click on psclient. It fades out, then shows a big white screen. Then it stops and says, \"The application psclient unexpectedly quit.\" Does anyone know why it is doing this and how I can fix it?

I think im having the same problem, with both pssetup.app and psclient.app

This is what I got from the console for pssetup:

Crystal Space for MacOS/X 0.99 r0 [MacOS/X-powerpc-GCC]
Ported to MacOS/X by Eric Sunshine

ERROR: csInitializer::SetupConfigManager failed!
Is your CRYSTAL environment variable set?

And this for the client:

SCF_WARNING: class planeshift.sound.soundmanager (from /Applications/Planeshift3D/pssound.csplugin) has already been registered in the same context `app\' (in /Applications/Planeshift3D/psclient.app/Contents/Resources/pssound.csplugin)
Crystal Space for MacOS/X 0.99 r0 [MacOS/X-powerpc-GCC]
Ported to MacOS/X by Eric Sunshine

ERROR: csInitializer::SetupConfigManager failed!
Is your CRYSTAL environment variable set?

Im not sure what a CRYSTAL environment is, nor if i could fix it without messing something else up, so here I am.

Any help you can give would be appreciated

PS: In response to what I know your about to say- \"read the stickies\" Yes I know, Ive read it. It is quite dense, so i might have been confused (but i understand the need for detail). I ran the old-updater.jar, as the current would not work. And under your suggestion ran mirror 2, still did not work. I also tried deleting everything and tried all over again. Tried setting the permissions in terminal. Id appreciate a specific hint, though Im sure by reading, you are sick of this question.
