Can't attack - killed by a rat...

Heya,

it seems I\'m more and more unable to attack. I just got killed by a rat because I just couldn\'t make my Char hit back. It just stood there, axe and shield in hand, and awaited the death bite. *argh*

Having read about  a similar problem in some thread, I tried to stop attack and then start it again - no use.

(Plus, the game just crashed right at the exit of the death realm. Man, this day wants to get me down for sure...)

If you get \"You are too far to attack\" message try /unstick and attack again.

No, that was the case only some times. By far not every time it happened.

I\'m getting the impression that it\'s related to slow server response times. Maybe something get\'s messed up when you try to stop attack, then start it again before the server has digested it internally. I\'ll have to keep watching. For what it\'s worth, recently I didn\'t encounter that problem. I hope it stays that way

Another usual problem: When you start your attack, and then move before you hit (or the monster has to move to you before it can attack you), it is possible that the system assumes \"full defensive stance\". But it doesn\'t allow you to change to a more aggressive one.

Workaround: Stop your attack, and start another.

If it doesn\'t work, you may also want to try deselecting  and reselecting your target before starting another attack.
