About PS comunity
« on: March 21, 2006, 12:20:48 pm »
Well today I decided to give up on PS for good. PS is suposed to be a RPG , thet means a ROLE PLAY GAME , but that is not possible whitout strict rulles and most of all a sistem to aprove acounts and characters before leting them ingame
The PS comunity whit a few exceptions is no better then Thang comunity , most players are just about maxing there stats and skills  , and the Roleplay resumes to \"hello sir\" ,
\"how is your day\" . So this said I will not play PS again untill there is a system in place to ensure that not all diablo players looking for a free game get in PS and ruin it . To bad , I was hoping for something more when I first discovered PS and read about it , the ideeas seemed great , are great actualy , to bad no one enforces them . So this said....
/me goes to install knight online and thang
/me is mooving back to muds , PS just confirmed my oppinions that in ALL cases , no matter how god the intentions and the projects are , good graphics makes crap games
And perhaps I did not stress this enough , DO NOT allow just everybody in , have some tests before aproving an account and a character , see layonara online or illarion for instance

no place is perfect.  unless you have your own island and only allow yourself and no one else on it.  Perhaps you looking in the wrong areas.  Doesn\'t matter really, so:

hmmm a wopping four posts. Well that is some in depth research.

I agree somewhat that the promise of a true RP game doesn\'t seem to be realised as I would wish, but no RP isn\'t true. Sometimes you have to work to get what you want.

Terribly sorry i killed the gobbel you had led to tavern door. But i did wait at least 30 seconds before i moved to kill it even though it was attacking me.

Also i am sorry i stood there and let the two Fanatics you also led from sewers kill you. (inside the tavern)

Role play is a two way street if you don\'t say what is going on or even talk sorry i cant mind read.

I am interested to find out why you led them there though ?

I\'m sorry to see you leave Isra. :(

While I think PS is one of the better games out there, I do have to agree that maybe we shouldn\'t just let everyone and anyone in. However, I know this will make things harder for the people running this game. Still, it\'s just a thought.

I hope you decide to come back Isra. :)

This is something that is ultimately up to the creators of the game. Since they haven\'t done this, we can assume that it\'s either not desired or at least not considered all that important in this stage of development.

I\'m also sorry to see you go (even if I don\'t know you ;)), but this is how things are I guess.
What I fail to see again and again, however, is how people who want strict roleplay feel so disturbed if someone enjoys slaying monsters somewhere else in the world. If the person in question directly and disturbingly interfers with your roleplaying session, I can see your point. This is after all something that is not tolerated, and a job for the GMs to settle/clean up, if necessary. Just give us a call. :)

Wrong.

i disagree with this post, eaven if many people are hacking and slashing that is still RP, just because they dont follow ur conventional way of seeing things doesnt mean they are wrong..

if a character in the world of planeshift chooses to train hard for upgrading their skills, that doesnt mean they dont RP, because to RP you just need to be online and interact with the other player, in a more or less intense way

if this doesnt make sense just ignore!

Do you seriously mean this? Maybe you need to take some tests.

Have fun... Won\'t miss you.

heres a random thought I had.

Ever think they don\'t want to chat with you for hours on end about thier personal lives?  (all in character that is)

I walk down the street and pass hundreds of people.  Am I stopping to chat it up and get to know everyone I meet? No, of course not.  Why would it be different in game?  I don\'t expect a lengthy conversation with most of the people I run into in game.  A simple hello, how are you today is more than enough.  Now, maybe if I were chatting it up amongst a group and decided to say, hey, I like this [insert character], perhaps I can get to know them better and become friends, well that is different now isn\'t it?  But just for everyday chatting, this certainly isn\'t possible, nor would I want it to be.

If some random character passes me by in game, and immediately wants to get to know everything about me, well, they are in a world of surprise then, since they are not going to get squat.  My character is not mean, he just keeps to him self, and chooses who he wants to be friends with.  Others must first gain his trust before he just starts telling about his lifes history.  I would think most people are the same way.

If you were expecting everyone to just be \"oh heres my entire background that I tell complete strangers\", well your idea of role play is not for me.

If you would have looked a bit, you would have seen that the game is filled with people that RP, and the \"power levelers\" you despise so much are really the minority.

Here\'s another thought for you, though I know you won\'t read it.  If you\'re so sick of the problem you claim there is to be, why make a ranting goodbye thread that serves no real purpose but to add drama to a forum that is Strickly OOC in most ways, and not rather better your time by trying to solve the problem?  Help out in game by starting up some events or something.  Not to get into the whole Octach thing, but what everyone can agree on, that it did start one the biggest events that this world has seen and sparked much debate.  It got peoples minds turning, and it certainly made for great playing time, regardless if you agreed with what happened or not.

If you\'re not going to be part of the solution, you\'re only part of the problem.

(I wanted to say this all earlier in my frist post, but I was at work, so I had to keep it short, sorry.  I\'m done now.)

At least we have good graphics :)

I\'m sure once the game has more \'stuff\' like smithing and alchemy the in game atmosphere will shift more to RP.
